LATEST UPDATED MESSED UP AIMING

UPDATE-
I borrowed my brothers controller that hasn’t been updated by the most recent controller firmware update and everything was normal again. I went 50kills 6 deaths and 3 of the deaths were from team mates.

I have been playing Halo since the beginning. This game has been awesome and a huge step in the right direction. Unfortunately whatever minor update you rolled out yesterday has completely destroyed the aiming system. I have talked to dozens of people on the game and they all have noticed it as well. Most people are turning down their sensitivity to make it “better” but it is frustrating none the less. It’s disappointing that the team members in charge of these updates don’t have test players who can feel the negative difference. The update said there would be no noticeable difference and that couldn’t be farther from the truth.

SOLUTIONS-

  1. Go back to the original aiming that worked perfect
  2. At least give people the option to stick with that aiming settings

The change is so noticeable for me I can’t play the game anymore. Really disappointing because the game was a lot of fun. As I mentioned I have heard this from many other people online and how it hasn’t reached the forums yet I don’t know but I would update it quick before you lose more players.

Aiming mechanic has been wonky since launch my friend
There is a fix coming in December to remedy the issue

I don’t know if it is the aim or if the hit registration has -Yoink- the bed since the update. But I’m constantly having to hit people 2-3 time in the head after dropping their shields.

Is that what happened? Because my aiming was fine until just recently I noticed it was off yesterday. Thought I was just having a bad day or something.

I’m not in the crowd that thinks there was a problem with the aiming, on the contrary I think it is the best it has ever been.

My problem, and others, is since the small update that was rolled out yesterday the aiming feels a hell of a lot different. And not for the better. Something changed yesterday with the aiming mechanics and I believe it was the “not noticeable difference” that was talked about in the last update. It is definitely noticeable for higher up players.

I do wonder why they don’t just set it back to what it was in Beta. To my knowledge there was not one complaint about the aim. There was complaint the strafing was too slow. But the aim it self seemed to be flawless.

Yea it just started yesterday for everyone. Go check out my stats I’ve been doing amazing and I could barely aim yesterday. Ended up talking to people online about it and they all said the same thing. No answers from anyone about what the hell is going on but I’m not playing till answers are received.

343i said themselves they changed the aiming from the beta, in my opinion the aiming in the beta was a whole lot smoother, there are considerably large deadzones in the current aming mechanics, I think the controller firmware update form a week or two ago fixed most of the diagonal aiming speeds
Aim acceleration is way off, to me anyway aiming hasn’t felt right since launch
I don’t even think they addressed anything to do with aiming in that patch, nothing about aiming was mentioned in the patch notes

I’ve been feeling. I got used to the launch aiming, before they “fixed” it. Now I can’t aim worth a damn. Last couple days in particular have been awful. I don’t know if it’s just me going through a rough spell, but I have the worst time finishing somebody off. I land shots, drop shields, the dash, I try to follow and my reticle is just way the -Yoink- off.

Yea I have noticed that too. It’s very frustrating whatever they just did complete jacked up the gameplay.

Weird it felt like it was fixed. Then after the new update, it was kinda screwy… Or maybe its just me LOL gotta warm up my thumbs!

Ummm the update was for campaign save and theatre issues…

I think you guys are experiencing a placebo effect

This post isn’t about the beta vs launch aiming mechanics. It’s about the update that was rolled out yesterday and changed the aiming mechanics from how they have been since launch. It was suppose to be unnoticeable and it has completely changed the aiming mechanics for the worse.

The update didn’t touch aiming yesterday. Please provide links and evidence saying so.

It’s not a placebo because I didn’t even find out they were messing with the aiming mechanics until one of the people I asked if they felt the aiming was changed mentioned that they said something about it on halo waypoint. I noticed the change the second I logged into the game and the aiming felt strange.

I honestly don’t think they could have got much worse from launch
The aiming controls (again at least to me) have felt way off since launch, massive dead zones and a shoddy aim acceleration system have been wreaking havic on my ability to play this game

I’m unsure if the 126mb update did anything to the aiming, like I said nothing was mentioned about it in the patch notes, I was under the impression it was to fix the campaign bugs that the 6.2gig BtB patch caused

Yup that is a placebo effect

The update specifically was for campaign and theater.

The December update is the one for the aiming.

You sir are mis informed and experiencing a placebo effect

It is specifically for campaign and theater bugs

This isn’t COD with 10 sensitivity, the most successful players I know stay in the mid to low range. I never felt dead zones and have liked how the controls have been in the game.

whatever update rolled out yesterday changed something. Whether it is the aiming mechanics or hit registration or a combination of the two something changed and I am not alone in noticing it.
