I’ve been trying to update Halo Wars: 2 since late Monday night. I’ve tried update, uninstall/reinstall. I’ve checked my network settings. I can run other games and apps just fine. It installs at anywhere between 35 and 42 Mb/s. when it reaches 8.20 GB (or 19%), the installation stops. A message says it appears to be corrupt and cannot install. I see friends online playing the game so I know it works for some people. What is wrong? Before you reply, remember, if it was something simple, I wouldn’t be here.
I have 19 “installation stopped” notifications.
I’m thinking two possibilities:
- Do you have enough space on your hard drive? - Did your internet service provider (ISP) mention anything about a download limit?
Storage space is 160.6 GB free. No download limit. As soon as it stops it begins installing all the leader packs afterward. Thanks for replying!
I’ve been at this for a day and a half. That’s literally, not figuratively. I’m beiginning to get very agitated. Someone, PLEASE, help me.

I’ve got the same where for me it get to 9.71 GB and then comes up with a notification that the installation has stopped.
I’ve tried a factory rest of the console and didn’t do anything anyone got any advise?
For the people who have factory reset their console, can I suggest they try to install to an external hard drive? It is possible that their hard drive has gone bad, this should clear up that case.
And for those of us who can’t afford an external?
If that was the case why do other games still work.
I encounter this problem as well, gets to 17% and then stops, throws up an error message that tells me I can’t open a program while its being installed (despite telling me it failed), I go to manage games and there is an un-readable 12.7GB file marked Halo Wars 2, but all the add ons install fine. Unistalling does nothing, factory reset does nothing, I’m out of options here!! It only happened when I tried to download the latest update. I was going to buy the DLC too, but now there wouldn’t be much point in it.
