Latest Community update shows 2 new cores, new btb map

Looks great.

Chimera looks like a sort of redesign of Gen 2 based off of grittier power ranger and very specifically, Agent Locke’s armour.

Interesting.

SPI looks great too. But its just SPI, less to say about that.

The BTB map is gorgeous.

Yeah I had to double check but yeah I definitely see what you mean with the Chimera armour being a bit like Gen 2.

I wasn’t sure if it was some kind of bio mechanical thing when I saw it. Given we had two very alternate universe cores it’s a little odd to have armour that doesn’t look super out of place in the setting. Any more than Lone Wolves for example.

I think the Chimera isn’t supposed to be related to anything canon. Ima assuming that’s the fractured core.

I got a kick out of the “This stuff didn’t exist 76 days ago!” line. That lands in September the same month 343’s leadership shook up. I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist, shove words in people’s mouths, or spread false rumors, but I’m of the opinion that they were subtly saying “Yeah, leadership was the issue. We’re finally working how we want now.”
I feel like the change in how cores are released adds to my theory because within a month we went from “Mk. V[B] only comes in Season 1 or the free 30-tier pass” to “Nah, all cores are free, past and future.”
Either way, game is having a welcome recovery. Lets hope montly updates continue to appear and nurse the game to a healthy state.

Have they confirmed that was the Fracture core?

He hasn’t accidentally put the Season 4 core in?

For a fracture it does seem very different to the Japanese and WW2 one we got. Like it’s not really that much more out there than Rakahasa and it’s not immediately clear what the theme is. Only thing I could think was this is an android as opposed to a man. But that’s basically it.

Why would they put the Season 4 core in? Yeah it’s absolutely the fracture core. The build there was a Season 3 build.

Fracture cores are usually off theme versus the seasonal core. The past two seasons, we gotten one canon and one Fracture. Season 1: Mark V/Yoroi — Season 2: Rakshasha/Eaglestrike

Im pretty sure every season will have one canon and fractured at this point. And I’m assuming the Mirage core is the canon, as, Fracture cores usually end up looking drastically unique, as the Chimera does.

Chimera gives of Crysis vibes, if you’re familiar with Prophet from the Crysis series then the Armor core is what’s giving me the vibes from

Sure, but it’s odd they would leave the historical multiverse theme. If they are going to do Halo version of other armours that’s fine. Just not sure what the theme exactly is and you could immediately tell for the other two.

As has been said in first post it’s not that far off Gen 2 armour.

I feel like the shoulder pieces are a bit too low on the Mirage/SPI armor core.

It looks like there’s a bit more open space in this BTB than there have been in 343’s other BTB maps that launched with infinite. But it still looks a bit too crowded. We need maps like the Forge map Coagulation where there’s a lot of open space for vehicle combat to really thrive.
