Latency Issues

Dear 343i,

I am having issues where I die unjustly due to the time difference between my game and what is actually happening on the server. I believe this is caused by the fact that I am playing on Azure Servers based in the US (for 90% of the time) even though I am from the UK.

This is what I experience as a UK player:

The effects of this are that from my screen’s point of view:

My shields are depleted before they they should be and I die from less bullets than I should be dying from.
I experience less aim assist and this makes aiming at longer distances harder that it should be.
I get shot after I am back in cover.
I get shotgunned from outside its effective range because according to the server they are actually closer than they appear on my screen.
I get splattered by Ghosts after I have jumped them because they are actually closer than they are on my screen.
I get shot as I come round corners because on my opponents screen I am already around the corner.
It takes more bullets to kill someone than it should because according to the server my opponent isn’t exactly where he is on my screen.

Can you please do something about this?

I too am UK player and get frustrated with same issues.Shoot 3 shotgun shots into enemy and I end up dying,one shot from enemy and iam dead,as an example.Iam always on USA servers (are there any UK servers for Halo5?).Halo multiplayer always soon loses its player base due to been unplayable,not much fun getting slaughtered for the most part.Microsoft and 343 only really care for its US market.

Try hard resetting your xbox and pull out all cables for 30 secs, then reconnect. Make sure your xbox location in the setting are uk then restart xbox

I am also from the UK and experience a lot of what the OP has shown. It seems that also after 10PM uk time these get worse (Hit detection,Boost to avoid etc) Recently had some good games Sunday 15th but very random with majority been able to tell that there are latencey issues. Could you indicate what servers we connect to or give us region filters. I am not sure how this Azure cloud infrastructure works but from a players point of view been stuck in a cloud matched with other players is something this game cannot do when the geographical distances are big.

We have all done that mckenzie restart our consoles daily. shut them down. are you saying you had the above problems and them they were rectified when you did all this? Do you team up in your limited play so far play solo? what ISP are you on?

You can now tell when your getting a bad game when your Req take time to update. Around 10 PM gmt you will go into war games unable to Change requisitions, just get the loading icon where the Y to selct is. Bad hit detection,shot in cover ocassional warping. This also happens sometimes before 10pm but not as often. It is like your req data is stored on your region server but the game server is on another server with a bad fluctuating connection.
