What does this focused setting even do? Even when using it, I’ve yet to meet someone else with their mic on who’s even close to me on the map. All are the opposite side of the country. Search times are short and I’m rarely on a local server. Are these search settings broken?
I just use balanced search option and haven’t encountered any significant wait or latency issues. Where are you at?
If you’re using AOL it could also cause lag.
I find balanced, while not anywhere near perfect, finds better matches than Focused. No idea why but Focused is broken. Almost every match I search for with Focused in Warzone puts me in a JiP session wjth my team getting beat down
I always use balanced, but the fact that before options the “default” was balanced is pure bulls*it.
With balanced i’m able to find very good matches but search times are very very long like it is supposed to be with focused… In FFA for example i’m completely unable to find a match if i’m not using expanded…

I’m glad you said this. I was wondering if it was just me. I totally stopped using Focused on Warzone, because of this…plus the matches never seemed any better (more evenly) matched. Seems okay for Arena though.

I would say theres something wrong. You shouldn’t be connecting to Texas. You should be pinging the server in Chicago IL. Focused should get you to ping there but this thing that 343i came up with is garbage. The most likely problem your having if using Focused is that when you start your search is that it times out and throws you down in Texas. Im from MN and I get thrown down there a lot as well. There is plenty of people playing in our part of the region but like I said 343 has really crapped this up. Server Selection would have been the right way to go but of course they came up with this bizarre formula. If you do a hard reset/start to your xbox sometimes that works and will start to connect you closer. It doesn’t always work but most of the time it does for me.

I use Charter. They aren’t terrible, very rarely get disconnected, and no lag issues.

Literally play at all times depending on the day. 9am-3am, no noticeable difference in connection depending on time of day either.

I wish I connected to a server in Chicago. Lag would be at a minimal rather than this lag infested crap I’ve experienced lately. Especially considering the fact that I’m 25 miles south of Chicago in the suburbs…

Hummm for some reason once I get close to midnight it throws me down South… And of course the game play goes with it! lol. We should party up sometime… I would like to see if that helps or at least see how the game plays then… Last night I got lucky and made it until 1:30 am… I love to play when the game is nice and smooth!

Unless they have moved around server locations we should be all pinging in Chicago IL… Next closest H5 server for me is Iowa… But I always ping better to Chicago… Who is your ISP?
I wonder if it has to do with Comcast. When I visit my parents in Chicago and play on their much, much slower ATT DSL connection, it’s like I’m playing on lan. I’d wreck people with higher ranking than me. I can’t remember the last time I played someone from Chicago, Iowa, or…Michigan when I’m home. Most common locations of people I play against (who use mics) are Texas, Florida and Oklahoma.

Well we are all cable ISP then. I stumbled on the server locations for H5… And when your on your computer it shows the pings of all the servers. Have you seen what im talking about?
