Extra laggy tonight guys… don’t know why. But I have run into more lag switches now that the Infinity Challenge is going on. Sad.
Anyway, could someone explain how this lag compensation thing works? Because I’m tired of shooting people in the head multiple times and still having them run off. It seems as though some games, it’s fine. I 5 shot people with the DMR all day long. Other games, however, I can put full clips into people and still watch them run off.
Is this something that has to do with 343’s lag compensation? Because it’s really starting to piss me off. I have a great wired connection, so this shouldn’t be on my end. I’m only asking because I read some time ago about the lag compensation in Halo 4 but I can’t find the post. The OP of that thread was complaining about how it’s ruining MM… anyone with a bit more savvy on this topic know anything?
I’d also like some answers regarding this apparent spike in lag - I just had a string of very weird games too. Not just shot registration problems, but delays in switching weapons, even at one point my weapons switching without any input from me. Also, I went into BTB and when the game started the whole screen was blurred over. This happened twice in a row. I’m used to occasional lag and shot registration problems, but not the game being such a mess as it was last night.
Yeah for a while all big games have had this lag compensation thing going on, but Im pretty sure it causes more problems than it solves, I mean look at (pls dnt flame me) CoD, that has had lag comp since black ops 1 and it still causes the second advantage effect, so its not unrealistic to say its causing simmilar issues in halo 4.
When your internet used to lag, you would lag and couldn’t kill people, with lag comp it gives you an artificial advantage, so all that has changed is now people with crappy internet connections have connection advantage, and the lag comp makes it look like there’s nothing wrong.
