Last update: remove white paint: option!

Clean armor had to exist before they painted variants.
(Give us that?)edit

Too many great armor, ruined by having ALL of their variants covered in white markings.

The markings are distracting, and ugly.

The easiest option would be a “remove texture” option, that can be used on every armor.
(Rather than making 2 dozen new armor sets)

List your most wanted “clean armors” below.
Mark VI gen 1
Helljumper.
Decimator.
Recon.
Stalker.
Hunter.
Copperhead.
Orbital.

All do not possess a clean or attractive paint job.
Despite being nice armor.(list more to come)

Yes, totally agree! Especially on Helljumper armor the paint ruins the nice design of the armor/helmet.

I like to add Nightfall to the list.

Besides that a Nightfall and/or Helljumper helmet with a thick white stripe in the middle to make it more ODST-esqe. That would be super-duper sweet!

They should’ve added a different description to those kind of armors

There’s been many times where I would like to put on an armor combination but the painting is just awful

It isn’t going to happen dude.

If everybody on the forums is expecting that nothing is going to happen, then nothing is going to happen… So stay hopeful!

343 stated that in november 2017 the biggest update to date will come. If that doesn’t include a lot of new REQs than I don’t know what will. We had smaller updates in 2016 that added a lot of new REQs to the game. And not even reskins! So the november update will likely contain REQs. And OP is suggesting the easiest REQs ever to be added to the loot pool. So expect more from 343.

They already stated that it won’t be a req update.

I do not have the article but I have this.

> Someone asked Grim on Twitter if the update meant that “we MAY get new reqs or Forge items”?Grim replied saying “Assume not”.Therefore, I’m not sure if there’s any plans for new new content. It sounds like the update is more focused on improving Multiplayer and fixing issues, ATM.

Ah, so with biggest update to date they mean fixing problems that shouldn’t even be there and adding more gigabytes to our Xbox harddrives… Sigh.

Well, I’m staying optimistic. A twitter quote is not that meaningful. If small updates contain REQs the biggest update will most likely also contain REQs. Even though they’re not willing to admit it yet. And giving REQs of existing armor with white paint removed is something they can make within hours (maybe minutes?).

At this point all we can do is wait and see.

I found this twitter response from Grim. We don’t know everything that it will entail, but we know it won’t be new content.

  • Argus (Darkened secondary color on the default, or white paint on the Arestor variant, not a fun choice) - Engineer (I like how it looks, sue me :pouting_cat:) - Fenrir Unchained (I love the Harlequin pattern on the arms and legs but it shouldn’t have to always be white) - Helljumper (because of course) - Hunter needs to stop having darkened secondary color - Locus (one of my favorite helmets, sadly ruined with white paint) - Strider should show any secondary color and also not have white all over it. - Default EVA, Operator, and Security (reason: so I can use their gen1 helmets without needing to have white on my armor) - Default Recon should show any secondary color at all, so I can have two colors when using it with the gen1 helmet…

I like this attitude. The community should push for the changes it wants, even if it’s been confirmed that nothing will happen. Because even if nothing happens, 343 will see the response from the community, and that has a chance of informing their future decisions, such as what they do in Halo 6.

No keep the white paint. If used correctly it could make your Spartan look very good.

The problem is that you don’t “use” it. It’s just there, with no way to be changed. If you think it makes your Spartan look good, then that’s cool, but I think being able to change it with a tertiary color option would be better because then you could keep it white and I could do something else if I wanted. It’s better when players have more control over their armor colors, which is the main reason why the un-changeable white paint wasn’t received very well.

And this is from launch.

More customization options is fine by me.

Keeping my expectations low, but we did see a few brute prototypes from Gamecheat13.

Just think.

There has to be a plain armor before there are variants.
Or they would share markings…

Give us the base model as an unlock able.
Like after we unlock every other armor we get their clean versions?

Yes and i’ll give you the example for everyone of the armors that use it correctly
Noble
Wrath
Vigilant (On the leg)
Aaaand that’s basically all I know
