Last spartan standing kinda sucks

Its neither a battle royal or an escalation game mode. It has the one map and we are literally being forced to play it to level up.

Just to be clear, if you enjoy it then great. But if you like me are just playing to do challanges (“our challenges wont make you change how you play the game” lol) then let that be known.

I dont want 343 to think that the time i have spent in this mode has been enjoyed. Its boring.

I just dont want them to look at a spread sheet and see loads of people are playing a mode and think they did a great thing. They are literally forcing players to play it.

I honestly don’t hate it. It certainly isn’t my favorite, but I prefer it over regular FFA. I think it is because most encounters are true 1v1, where FFA is just one big round of cleanup.

My biggest problem with it is that I can’t play it with my friends. So by default I won’t spend a whole lot of time with it.

I like it, and I don’t normally enjoy FFA matches. I’m more of a BTB person myself.

But I do find it fun to play at least on occasions. Not sure if I’ll attempt to get all of the drops through from this as I’ve already invested a lot into the VII and V Spartans. The biggest things I want from this event is the Yellow AI and maybe the two weapon coatings for the pistol and sniper rifle.

If I am forced to play this mode for much longer to complete my challenges I will quit this game very shortly. I played every day through season 1 despite the lack of content, but this game mode is the absolute antithesis of halo. I absolutely hate it. Everyone I fight has an overshield in their back pocket camped around a high point on the map. This is the worst halo gameplay I have ever played and I want no part in it

The quality of the game is what kills it for me. At least three times a game I’m asking myself wtf was that? This game is more inconsistent than it ever has been before.

I have been enjoying it so far and I don’t care much for BRs As a limited respawn FFA gun game, I enjoy the pacing and how the gun fights play out and turn into a cat and mouse game towards later third of the matches I managed a few wins against a superior marksman by out playing them on the map.
The map is pretty decent with lots of cover and escape routes and lots of room for some cute reversals if you pay attention.

In the one match I made it to the final showdown the game was nice enough to spawn me in the bottom tunnel right at the edge of the kill zone as it was shrinking. So that made for a pretty lame final fight.

Crap sucks. There’s NOTHING fun about it. It’s more like a job and no one’s paying me to play Halo. Congratulations if you like it good for you, as long as somebodys getting their moneys worth. I want Attrition, not a 2% chance of playing Attrition through quickplay. I have a newborn so that’s like once a month for me

Literally the worst halo game mode I have ever played. The power up spam is an abomination. Now if only all of the unlocks in the game currently weren’t locked behind this stupid playlist then maybe I could go back to having some fun in modes I want to play

Yeah I agree it is not what I thought it would be. I just want the older modes back so I could have some fun

Not really a fan for various reasons. But why put in a message saying “challenge progress will not be lost” when you are out of lives, when it IS in fact lost. Are they trolling us?

this is so unfortunate. the vast majority of my quickplay games have been Attrition. :smiling_face_with_tear:

(which i really wouldn’t mind, except for the all the “Earn X Score in Quickplay” challenges i keep getting- and Attrition has a pretty hard cap on how much score one can earn per match, even if one totally dominates in points each round.)

as far as LSS is concerned, it definitely needs some major changes to favor fun first. less power-ups, marked power-ups, actual weapon pickups/drops, etc… and they also need to properly implement challenge progression even when leaving the match. it’s lame. i’d actually been harping to my friends for awhile now that a Halo BR could actually be really neat, then 343 gives us this… :upside_down_face:

I’m not a big fan of Last Spartan Standing, for a number of reasons:

-The squirt-gun is absolute garbage (I’d rather have nothing but a pistol to begin the match), and the bleed damage is so minimal that it isn’t worth the effort.
-I can’t seem to get a kill early before getting shot in the back, possibly by design but also because of spawn issues
—Following up on the previous point, camping seems to be the most effective strategy, especially because you will never lose once you get to a shotgun)
-Equipment drops tend to allow certain people to get multiple camo/overshield drops in a single spawn while the rest of us get nothing. If I don’t have a drop that randomly appears right next to me, I tend to struggle.
-The Commando continues to not work (bloom/recoil is worse than the Sidekick, and the shotgun is actually better at mid-range)
-Extra XP bubbles require you to level up before you pick them up, which sacrifices valuable time. The XP bubble deserves priority over levels. I’m trying to skip the first level-up (because the squirt-gun is garbage) and the Commando so I don’t have to work with broken weapons, but I find myself dying whenever I try and grab extra XP.

The “squirt gun” or the Disruptor, is far from being garbage. It is absurdly strong against shields, and I feel it more effective than the plasma pistol charged shot in terms of shield stripping potential. I would recommend learning how to best utilize it. I think you will find that you will wish you had it in the late game when over shields are abundant.
