Last Spartan standing is worse in alpha pack now than it was before…

Please just stop playing the game and try not to drag homeless people.

So I have just found out this event lasts until August the 2nd.
I retract my statement on waiting until next week.

There is less than 3,900 people playing anymore on Steam so I don’t know if you want to tell people to stop playing. Before you know it there won’t be anyone left to play with.

Let’s be honest this mode suffers from what every other BR suffers from and that’s even if your #1 slayer on the board you’ll still get yoinked by that 1 player with 0 kills sitting in a corner. Even more so with this mode as that 1 player will have far more respawns than the #1 slayer most likely.

3900 players, does that consist of just Steam players? You do know most people play on the consoles and on game pass correct?

its incredibly toxic and is making me violently angry

No, no, I do want people to stop playing. I do want 343i and MS to see that. I don’t care if this game has to get down to 50 concurrent players daily to be fixed.

I want people to protest.

This game ain’t my life. I’m a -Yoink!- trans welder trying to leave her country with two wives. I got bigger things to worry about than Halo friggin’ Infinite. I got more things to do. I’m an artist, I’m a writer, I’m a musician.

But I want this game to get better, and the only way it’s gonna’, is if more people leave.

So no skin off my back if the game becomes unplayable because it wasn’t good enough. Nothing’s too big to fail and from a darwinistic perspective, this game SHOULD fail if it can’t keep up.

I’m honestly annoyed with this event.
It is just the “Interference” event all over again but with different rewards.

Like, we couldn’t make it LSS but with a teammate to watch our backs? You know, like how the Lone Wolves ACTUALLY operate?

Honestly, these events are obnoxious because it is just “focus on playing this mode so that you can complete challenges to earn new stuff.”

I would honestly prefer these to be more like “seasonal updates” instead of “events”.
Because honestly, if we combined all the event battle passes together, we could just EXTEND the main season’s Battle Pass by another 10 tiers or so and call it good.
Instead the cosmetics are forever temporary and never going to be seen again, so if you missed out on the game, you are outta luck for getting certain cosmetic items.

It has become more of a chore than a goal to unlock these items because they force you to play only ONE gamemode to get these items.

I just really really hate FFA game modes, always have.

Seriously, people who think this game mod is good are kids or have no general knowledge of gaming. I can’t even have my headshots kills because I am too bad at the game, yet I can win 100% of my LSS, you just have to sit down, wait it all out, and at the end you rush your last enemy with your 5 lives. EZPZ. Don’t even have to be good at the game to win, that is how bad the game mode is designed. I just won a game by using the sidekick against a sword. I shouldn’t have come back to Halo after the major fail that was Halo 5. Now I invested so much of my time and hope for Halo Infinite that I can’t stop playing… I seriously wish they would just call it a night and close the Halo franchise, let people enjoy MCC and their mods, at this point, there is nothing 343 can do to save that disaster. Can’t even believe people enjoyed the campaign; this is why games nowadays are almost all extremely bad, people like to play in dirt.

Agreed, multiteam doubles would be so much better than this.

I tried doing that the last match I played, and it didn’t go so well. I had 5 lives and the disruptor and they had 3 lives and the sword. The non-danger zone area was a tiny circle. By my last life I just ran into the danger zone to die.

So you hate LSS and you hate the armor you earn from it. Don’t play LSS. Problem solved.

I’m 38 and have been gaming since Wolf 3D, Quake for online play. I don’t even care for FFA game modes either, but LSS I find tolerable and somewhat decent to play.

I still heavily prefer BTB of course. But people are allowed too, and can enjoy things that you don’t now lol.

Its just a bad game mode.

I never thought you could take LSS and make it worse than awful but 343-Ross did it. They went from awful to horrid. That takes talent!

Yes, people are allowed to like anything they want, but it doesn’t make it good. The concept is a fine one, but the gameplay is atrocious, flawed like there is no tomorow. Like I said, I can win without even participating. How is that fair? If it ain’t fair, it ain’t good.

I honestly think it’s better this time around.

I like the weapon tiers better. I like that it’s not always on the same damn map. I like that there aren’t overshields and camos raining down constantly.

I wouldn’t play it just because, don’t get me wrong.

So sick of LSS. Most of the time when I leave it says “connection lost” and get no credit for the match😬

There are not enough options in Last Spartan Standing (LSS) and it is clear that people are interpreting the stats of LSS wrongly.

Everyone was using the pistol in season 1 so let’s prioritise (and according to some, nerf) it in this iteration of LSS?
That’s because there was no other option for effective long distance killing until reaching a level where the battle rifle unlocks and not everyone reached a level high enough to unlock the battle rifle. People were running around trying to long distance with the commando.

I, for one, would not level up until accumulating around 1000 exp (close to the battle rifle) so that I could power level past the mid-tiers and straight into a reliable short and long-distance weapon combo. This brought about issues: not being able to pick up exp drops (worth 300 exp in the first iteration) or interact with the environment without leveling up first (like picking up overshield or camouflage if you already had an item).

That kind of blaringly obvious mechanic issues need to be fixed before LSS will be a success.
Why have more options in drop pods, for example? If there was an perceived issue with drop pods in the first iteration (people crying about invisible overshielded opponents) just reduce the number or placement of drop pods based on the items a character currently holds. What am I going to do with a power up that hasn’t been strategically placed based on the environment? Being lazy about level design to solve an RNG issue is retarding the gameplay, not improving it.

Finally,
The disrupter, by far, is the best long (and short) distance weapon for LSS as it does damage over time, meaning that you can pick up exp from assisted kills and prevent enemies from going out of the line of shot to recharge their shields, all more advantageous in a LSS setting than the pistols long distance and rapid fire.

Thank you for reading my blog.
