That’s probably due to Mark VII having the most options when it comes to customization too it.
Personally, I see more of the newer Cores out, but we’ll see how long that lasts if they don’t keep options coming out to keep them as customizable as other cores.
I’d probably use my Mark V core more if it had an actual good selection of coat colorings that go well with it, as well as releasing Charter’s shoulder pieces. The heavily restricted color coatings method they choose to go with is really hampering my enjoyment of trying out the new armor cores honestly.
Game modes tend to be something people either like or dislike, it’s inevitable as everyone has preference that they prefer. In this situation, no ones forcing you to play the game mode. You can very well just keep playing the modes you want to play.
Even if you want the armor in the event, it only takes 5 complete challenges to unlock all 10 slots, most of which seeingly are fairly simple challenges. The only one I dislike being the one asking for back smacks. I’m about to complete the event in a few hours tops and the only thing I’ll probably use is the last piece of the event pass as I genuinely prefer my Mark VII Spartan over the new ones.
I will admit though, the new core is getting color coats that aren’t centered around red and black only lol. Most look decent on top of things, hope that will carry over to other cores eventually.
Finished the event pretty quick. If you have a melee challenge, score or kill spartans, youll get the rewards pretty quick. I played 4 matches total, managed to get the follow up challenge done as well. So i didnt need the 5th matach. I hated every second of it, but glad it can be done and over with in about two hours
I am much happy though that those equipment pods that drop don’t all contain active camo and overshield. That definitely is a huge improvement right now. They can now drop any of the equipments in the game.
In this case it’s literally “If you don’t like the gamemode or the cosmetics you get from the event attached to the mode, don’t play it.” Because it’s clearly not worth it if that’s the case.
If you don’t like the mode, don’t play it. Simple as that. Send 343I a message by not playing. Maybe they’ll get a hint that certain cosmetics shouldn’t only be able to be obtained by playing only certain modes.
Played 5 minutes of LSS and then I said to myself “ nope, ain’t gonna do it” and turned off my Xbox…first time I have ever done that playing halo going back to halo 2….
As someone who only plays this game for events and who’s friends left this game after 2 weeks, I actually like LSS. As I age I can only withstand horrible teammates so much lol. I like the twist on FFA
It also represents a large part of the Pass progression for this week, as well as the barrier to the Ultimate Reward. So, if you want to level up your pass or get the Ultimate, you have to play LSS at some point.
This is an issue with the Challenge system as a whole - you’re railroaded into doing things you don’t like for things you do like.
It’s a sucky system, and one would hope 343, backed by the well over billion-dollar organization Microsoft, would have resolved that issue by… 9 months into the game’s life cycle. Unless of course, frustration and annoyance with the system is by design, so that players feel compelled to purchase Challenge Swaps and XP Boosts. But surely 343 wouldn’t be that scummy.
Exactly. I just wanted to use my double XP to get my recon helmet sooner. I just picked this up last week on game pass, and paid the $9 for the first pass which left a bad taste in my mouth. Once I finish getting what i want from the season 1 pass I’m going back to MCC.
Dudes like the guy you’re replying to are why 343 thinks they can get away with what they’re doing. His shoe polishing is hard to miss in these threads lol
I wouldn’t call the Ultimate weekly that worth it if it causes you legitimate pain. If the cosmetics for the Event pass don’t do it for you, but a friggin’ Clippy Charm does… I dunno what to tell you.
Again, you can always for next week. The Season 2 Pass isn’t going anywhere for a long time. You do not, lemme repeat, DO NOT, have to force yourself to play a mode you DO NOT ENJOY, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE COSMETICS. You’re only as railroaded as you allow yourself.
If anything this is a problem with a solution that SHOULD’VE been released when they released Season 2, a dedicated and divided set of challenges, one being for normal challenges and another for events.
Your mileage will vary. There are probably more than a couple of people out there who like the Clippy Charm and want it but hate LSS.
So, the solution is to just take a week off your multiplayer experience and go play something else? That’s not a good idea on 343’s part. Encouraging people to stop playing your game if you don’t like something is how players hop over to something that offers a more consistent experience.
I understand that, but your time and patience with the system is. If you have a lot more time to play this week, getting told you can’t level up your Pass and you should play another game for cosmetic unlocks related to progression is not the message we should be engendering in player’s heads. That is how the playerbase moves on and plays literally anything else.
I mean I’ve made criticisms towards 343 before, and even have my own distaste towards various aspects of this game, but go live in your fantasy world buddy. More power to you.
If you think “Don’t play the event if you despise literally every aspect of it” is shoe polishing that’s a reach and a half, but you clearly don’t wanna listen to that and wanna focus on the “Don’t play the event” so whatever makes you happy.
This is true, but, and admittedly this is from personal view, if a charm looks better to you than legitimate armor does, I find that… odd. I find it unlikely, but, thus is the nature of hypotheticals, right?
Y…Yes? If you like the game, and/or the Season, but not the events, you’re more than likely to come back after the week, because if you LIKE the game, there is no question of “maybe I should play another game”. Games shouldn’t be about obligation, that’s what makes them different from chores and jobs. Now, 343 isn’t helping with it with FOMO bs and whatnot, but games have NEVER been something that you should feel obligated to play. It is, and always has been about FUN. If you play something you have no fun with that also makes you upset, that’s just not good for you man. No matter what system is in place, ultimately what is keeping you around is YOU.
So if you’re frickin’ miserable what you wanna do is just suck it up? Forcing yourself to go through it all and suffer is a better option than simply taking your time and moving at your own pace? Is the few hours of pain worth it compared to spaced out hours of fun and serenity?
I’m going to reiterate this point: Do not play the event, if you do not like or have fun with the event. Do not continue through the Season if you do not like or have fun with the Season. Do not play the game if you do like or have fun with the game. Otherwise that’s just a glorified abusive relationship.
