Last Spartan standing event broken

343 I am one of the people trying to stand up for you but this is not a great way to start season 2. Watching my roommate play last spartan standing only to finally loose all of his lives and for the game to say he can quick with no repercussion only to find out none of his progress was counted for the 3rd time and see his frustration and disappointment was heartbreaking.

I jump on and try it on my Xbox and same thing it does not record any of your progress if you quit the game once you are out of lives.

Maybe there is a different way you must quit instead of leave game option or maybe this event is broken.

I love this game my roommate love this game we both bought the battlepass so please fix this ASAP!

You have to stay in the game until your Eliminated. You get a special message saying you can leave.

It’s really bad design though, the first match I died and was spectating and had to leave. Who wants to be forced to stay watching instead of playing a new match? I didn’t get XP/progress on the weekly for that.

Edit: Even if you get the message, it still didn’t count towards progression on my third and fourth match.

You’ll never “see” your progress if you leave before the match ends, but check-in later with a challenge you know you contributed to and you’ll see the progress.

So, I think the problem doesn’t come from YOU leaving, it comes from other people leaving. I’m only saying this because I’m getting SOME Points counting towards my challenges.

In the usual/base game modes, specific kills towards a challenge won’t complete if the person you got the kill on leaves.

So if you need kills with the sidekick, then you kill me with it, and I leave, the kills you got on me won’t count.

If true, an awful oversight for a game mode that revolves around people getting eliminated.

It’s not an oversight.

All progress occurs once the game ends. Anything do will count.

You can quit without penalty. It’s not well explained but it’s in patch notes. A pop up would have been good it’s clearly confusing lots of players.

I just relogged into the game (it crashed), checked Theatre (four matches) and still didn’t get progress.

What challenges? Did you quit the games before or after you were fully eliminated?

I’m not entirely sure still. The tracking, at the very least, seems strange regardless.

Just to complete 2 Last Man Standing matches. I played 4 and only got credit for one even though I saw the message I posted earlier 3 times.

I’m also just now seeing other people say that you might have to compete a match normally for the progress to register. Try a quick play match to see if it updates.

If you quit early it goes to a broke screen showing no progress but you did do progress. If you stay in the game and watch till the end it will show it like normal. Just seems like a bug from exiting early but it’s a visual bug. Progress is there.

I just played another two matches where my kills and XP did not get counted. Both matches already ended. I thought I’d test leaving after elimination again because I had been waiting out the matches to make sure I got rewards. It’s broken.

Most of the time, when I was able to leave, I got a “Connection Lost” popup in the menu, and no progress was recorded, no match history. Eventually I got sick of it and just walked away and let the match finish, wasting a bunch of 2XPs. Thanks 343

Sometimes when you quit in the normal way you get a ‘connection lost’ error even though you didn’t lose connection, you just quit through the menu the way the game told you to. If this happens you get no progress. So if you quit during a game its a roulette to see if you keep your progress or not.

Edit: nevermind i’m wrong, it’s nothing to do with the connection lost. it’s updating some of my challenges when i quit after i get the message and not others, so the challenge system essentially doesn’t work. I would suggest not doing challenges this week as theyll have to give out the weekly reward with how broken this is.

Too late. I already finished the weekly in 7 hours. If anything, I’m pretty far through the battle pass now. The sooner I finish the battle pass, the sooner I can stop playing for 6 months
