Apologies if this has been brought up, I’m sure it has, I’ve not been here for quite a while.
It’s such a shambles to be unable to play the new social mode, and Rumble Pit, without a friend.
Last man challenges are clogging my feed and I’m just not going to play them. Infinite is hard to sit through even with friends so I’d never consider playing this game solo.
There’s so little content in this game and gatekeeping certain modes makes it even smaller.
I’m just going to leave this here…
Ultimate challenge - complete 3 matches - I pretty much just jumped in the lava 18 times - although I did let some players shoot me before I jumped.
I fully agree. I understand the likelyhood for unsportsmanship, but it’s up to the developer to design their game to account for that. It’s unfortunate that 343 took the easy way out here and just locked parties out of the mode all together.
I’d like to hear how they would keep people from abusing it lol. They can use third party tools to voice communicate with one another in game so that they know where everyone is so they don’t kill one another.
The best you could probably do to prevent it is treat them like cheaters and have people report them when you encounter them.
Not to mention this would require pulling resources of their company to manage, meaning all new content would be pushed back even further.
They could. But there are games out there where if you queue with a team, you get put into a separate queue from those who are queueing up individually. The wait times may be a little longer (it really isn’t noticeable), but it makes for better matchmaking in these solo-style games overall. Nothing saying you can’t kill your partner either. Or that you can’t help each other out if you both survived til the end in order to get some challenges done.
This is just poor programming on 343i’s part. When there are options available to make all game modes playable with friends, and they refuse to do so simply because 343i doesn’t like it, really alienates a population of players from those game modes (which is their excuse for not allowing us to pick strongholds, CTF, One Flag, etc. separately from the rest of the social/ranked queues).
Why not? The other Halo games except 5 allow it and it wasn’t abused.
They’re both social playlists. Who cares if a few teenagers try to gang up? It’s social and meant to be some light hearted fun where you encounter wacky things not normally seen in normal play.
I see people saying that restricted social playlists helps stop players from grinding challenges. This is some kind of weird Stockholm Syndrome. Is everyone here employed by 343 to shill challenge swaps?
We are legitimately saying that the chance of players not abiding by the levelling system, that we all hate, is reason enough to restrict the amount of enjoyment players can have.
Not for sure; I don’t get paid to make fun video games, I pay other people that make fun video games. I leave it up to them to solve those types of problems.
Just after spending 2 min thinking about it they could:
Encourage team work with squads and shared lives
Only match groups together and allow party chat so some coordination will be tolerable/expected for all participants.
I was saying exactly this when I heard what the season/event theme was. Nothing like having a bunch of challenges to grind out in a mode where I can’t play with my friends, because it’s not like Halo has ever been about playing with your friends or anything. /s
You can have up to 8 bots in a custom game. Though, the bots will not upgrade their weapons when they level up. Which, fighting a spartan bot with a disruptor in close quarters is a challenge.
Also, LSS can be played on any map, the zone will appear and shrink on all maps. Plus equipment drops like it does on breaker, sometimes you get more variation in equipment.
