Last man standing's hidden penalty for leaving is absurd

The last cosmetic unlocked when I relaunched the game. Finished up this week already. Guess it’s back to MCC for now.

I am happy to report that as of todays update from about 5hrs ago, I can now leave a match as long as my lives are exhausted, play another, then when I check on challenge progress, the credit for the match I left has been added on, thankfully they fixed this, so you no longer have to watch the whole match just to get credit.

So I had this happen to me as well, actually showed I completed a challenge reward the exp but did not level up the event tier sooooooo now I’m stuck with no event challenges and I’m all out of swaps

Feels good……not

I should add that the system does wait for the match you left to end before giving you challenge credit, but if you go straight to another match, that should be enough time for the previous ones credit to be given to you.

If you leave it for a few days it will likely auto reward you the reward on its own, or you can submit a ticket to Halo support, or you can wait till next weeks challenge refresh and earn it then since this event lasts for 2 weeks.

When I finished watching a whole match, the “Kill XX number of Spartans” bar increased, but then it showed zero kills on the main challenges page. When I reloaded the game, it showed the correct number of kills.

Seems the game’s really struggling to sync up all the match results…

It was bugged the first day and they pushed a fix for it, I played again last night and it seemed to work correctly.

I completely agree, the fact that you could be essentially going into matched blind of what your actual current challenges are is nuts. Ive been switching between game modes so that I’m not playing LSS matches more than I need to and I can let it actually load its progress while im in QP desperately trying to find a damn stronghold match.

Latest news on the challenge tracking issue:

From the Tweets:
Let’s talk #HaloInfinite Season 2! For the Interference Event, Last Spartan Standing challenges should now be tracking more accurately and helping you earn rewards. There may be a delay if you leave early, but all progress should count once the match finishes in the background.

To help make things right, we’ll be granting 5 XP Boosts & 5 Challenge Swaps to anyone who logs in while Interference is live. Next week, we’ll also be reducing the difficulty of some Event Challenges and making it so that completing them earns you 2 levels on the Event Pass.

We’ve seen the feedback around changes that impacted various multiplayer jumps and campaign speedrun strategies. We’re not at the point where we can promise anything yet, but want to be transparent and say that we’re taking the feedback seriously and reviewing options internally.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you for providing input and reporting any issues you find to

Good I was wondering why I wasn’t getting the rewards thanks for answers on how to fix the issue by restarting the game

It makes sense that any updates to event challenges would happen after the match you quit finishes… but they really should’ve made things clearer.

Maybe just a pop up warning saying it may take some time for things to update and sync up.

For me personally any challenges i shouldve had progression on never received an update and remained the same level. I had to play another game entirely to see any progression and only the amount i accomplished in that game showed any progress. In order for me to receive any credit for challenges ive made progress in during a match, i had to wait until the game was completely over without quitting.

Yeah, at the back of my mind, I’m still a bit wary of lost progress, so I’ve started to watch the matches to the end. If anything, it gives me the chance of learning tactics from better players

Lol realy all casuals can do.

In my experience, it is still buggy and only keeps track of challenges directly related to the event unless I stay till the end.
