When you lose all your lives in last spartan standing you get a prompt saying you can leave without penalty. Which is a GOOD thing. I dont want to watch others play especially when i have a double xp burning away. Complete waste of time and i want to keep playing not watching. If i wanna watch someone else play ill just go to youtube or something. I especially dont want to watch the last 2 ppl spend 5+ minutes just trying to find each other or play sneak games. I only have 1 hour before double xp expires i dont have time to watch two ppl trying to cheese each other.
But thereâs a huge problem with this. IT DOESNâT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR CHALLENGES PROGRESSION. Why not??? Iâve already run out of lives. Im short on time. I couldâve gotten another game in by the time the first one finally reaches the end. The first time i got the prompt saying i could leave with no penalty so i did without hesitation but it didnt tell me the challeneges wouldnt count. I was furious to discover 3 challenges i finished in 1 game had 0 progression.
The second time it told me i could leave but challenges wouldnât count. A little late on that 1. Damage was already done and wasnât as lucky getting them all in 1 game again. I donât understand why there is more than 1 prompt but only 1 of them actually says there >is< a penalty for leaving. Because challenges not being completed are a huge penalty.
No ones cares about a potential soft ban of 5 minutes when itâs literally faster than waiting 10 minutes for a game to end with an extra 5 minutes of loading into another game after. Having to do these challenges in a game mode i Personally loathe is already punishment enough. But at least let me keep the challenge progression when the game is over for me. Thatâs the only reason im even playing that mode. I dont care about who the winner is.
Last spartan standing might be fun for others. Especially the super sweaty players that this mode was made for. Personally I absolutely despise it and it isnât fun for me. But donât penalize ppl for leaving when the game is over for them. 0% challenge progression is a penalty.

So⌠when I quit early because I got smashed on last man standing it doesnât show the progression until I reboot halo. After that it shows the correct progress, and the respective unlocks, as well as challenges, and battle pass progress. Seems like itâs buggy.

Itâs not buggy, the match itself was not over yet and it can only add to your challenges when the match is over. So after the match is over it will be added the first âupdateâ to your challenge system and that is after your next match or if you restart the game.

It does complete your challenges. I tested it last night after I ran out of lives and left early. The gameâs UI is just buggy. If you back out to the main menu and reconnect to the multiplayer servers it will show your challenges updated.

Itâs a bug for PC players. Those points actually are count. But the blade with numbers does not refreshes if you leave.
As a workaround you can turn of the game, and turn on it back, and you will see that you got your points.
Im on xbox so itâs not just pc. At least now i know

From my experience yesterday, if I left after my lives ran out then my Last Man Standing challenges would not progress period, I tried waiting, and I tried restarting the game as well, and nothing, spectating the game to its conclusion was the only way my challenges would ever progress, needless to say after I finish the event pass then this mode can stuff if because I am so done with it.
This is the experience i had. I had to play another game to complete the challeneges. They didnt show unless i watched the full game finish
I just tested it out again and even hard reset my game. Zero challenge progression. It only completes if i stay and watch the entire match.

Your progress should update once the match ends. You wonât see progress immediately after quitting. Check back after your next match to see if your challenges progressed.
If you are talking about the daily challenge, it will âdisappearâ but you wonât be awarded the XP until the match officially ends.
Some of the challenges are currently bugged and require you to stay till the end. I know for sure that the âcomplete last Spartan standing matchesâ challenge is bugged like this. Others have said the headshot and melee ones are also bugged, but I canât confirm those right now.
Contrary to what other people are saying⌠the progress DOES count. But the way itâs communicated to the player is terrible. You actually have to play another game and finish that one to see the progress from the prior game count. If you sit there and wait in the menus it wonât ever populate your progress even after that match you left is over.

How anyone at 343 found this to be acceptable is absolutely mind blowing.
First off, letâs pretend for a second that it actually does reward you with the challenge progress after the match. The fact that youâd then be starting your next match with challenges that are still âin progressâ even though youâve truly already finished them makes that entire next match a gigantic waste of time. As someone who works in software development myself, I literally cannot fathom accepting such a broken solution.
Now, as for the pretending partâŚYeah, this doesnât actually reward you with all challenge progress later on if you leave. From what I can tell, it only rewards you with challenges that are specific to Last Man Standing itself.
Get assists in online matches? Not rewarded.
Complete PVP matches? Not rewarded.
Heck, the DAILY challenge for simply playing matches? Not rewarded.
And for the cherry on top - to advertise in every single match that you can leave without penalty and that challenge progress will not be lostâŚI mean, you literally cannot make this stuff up.
I also just realized my 60 minute double XP boost only lasted 30 minutes.
This is truly remarkable stuff.

Sorry, you are mistaken here. It is rewarded. Not sure on the other challenges you bring up though, I havenât had the opportunity to test those ones myself.
Yeah, itâs weird. The official patch notes say what BlueDevistator said about needing the match to end, and sometimes you wonât see progress without restarting the game or playing another match.
It can definitely be jarring when you donât know whatâs really happening, and annoying when you do know. Itâs on the bug list, though, and they are working on it.
It is busted as always⌠either rebooting the game, or even waiting the match out, itâs not progressing. I swear they are testing our patienceâŚ

I left games and my challenges progressed, there was like a one game delay. However my last cosmetic didnât unlock even though I finished all the challenges today. Maybe it will unlock the next time I log in or something.
My first cosmetic took ages to unlock even though Iâd completed a few event challenges. Seems to be real slow to updateâŚ
