For real though…anyone else just spam the 1000 drops of overshield and camo at the end? Lol
What a joke.

What a joke.
I was on like, level 3 or something running around the map and all of a sudden I was one of the final 2 players, an overshield dropped in front of me & I casually won lol
I refuse to believe they tested this mode at all ◉_◉
Well yeah they’re there to encourage map movement and give advantage to players who aren’t camping.
A very clear and intentional design choice.
annoying thing is, this clear and intentional design choice results in an ability spam2win playstyle thats not fun either. Also, the invisibility powerup encourages camping in itself (who doesnt like to get clapped in the back by an invisible camper?)
I dunno man I’ve played like 15 games so far and I’m enjoying it. There is definitely risk reward to going after powerups.
Last game I just lost was someone nesting by the powerup and they baited me as I went for it. Took me by surprise and took me out.
Really not a fan of this game mode at all…
Run around and don’ see anyone until either
A: you find someone, kill them and then the person chasing that person kills you becuase you’re weak
B: Run into someone with several OS’s while you have a disruptor and sidekick
Its just not enjoyable IMO, but hey…lets lock an event with costmetics behind it so either you are forced to play something you may not enjoy or say *&^& it, the cosmetics aren’t that good and just not play it
Such a waste
I just hope certain affinity’s BR isn’t going to use this as its base
Yea but it’s literally raining drop pods throughout the map. Always assume the os guy near the end has another os to use while you are attacking. Though I suppose running around just grabbing camo after camo after camo is fun until it’s 1v1.
People are show up out of no where getting spawned kill need promethean vision camping way to much
Garbage game mood need to be rework put king of the hill
Get rid of power ups
Stop spawning people be hind me
Pistol need to be nerf
Respawn timer is too slow
Melee need to be fix
I’m saying the last couple of circles, I legit used about 10 overshield and 10 camo powerups back to back to back as i ran around the map lookong for the last guys. There were legit about 20-30 powerup drops just laying around one after the other lol.
This is backwards of my experiences in LSS so far. The incentive structure as far as I can tell for the highest chance at winning is:
Play very conservatively (camp) to grab a few kills and upgrade your loadout to give you an early game edge
Venture out far enough (and only far enough) to get a powerup
Camp again and keep nabbing kills with the element of surprise, upgrading your loadout as often as possible and holding your power up in reserve to deploy when you hit a hairy encounter.
Rinse and repeat until you’re one of the last players, then go absolutely ham on power-ups in hopes to close out.
That strategy preserves your pool of lives, allows you to upgrade your loadout steadily if you’re camped in a reasonably trafficked part of the map, and should ultimately result in you making it further than most other players.
The dumbest thing you can do in LSS is stay consistently on the move; there are multiple other players in every match hiding out and waiting to punish players for passing through certain areas. The extent of the encouragement to move that the design gives is the powerups, but that’s pretty limited and once you have one, you’re even more encouraged to park yourself somewhere strategic and wait for other players to happen upon you (you have more to lose).
Players that follow that structure in the matches I’ve played are rewarded with the highest placements. This gametype isn’t fun because it encourages these behaviors. At least that’s what I’ve seen in the ~15 matches I’ve taken part in.
I use my powerup instantly unless we are in final lives and just run around loads. Winning like 3/4 games I think. Super aggro mode. No camping.
That’s good to hear. Like I say, it isn’t what I’ve seen predominantly in the matches I’ve played and I’m hearing a lot of others have similar experiences, but truthfully I’m glad if that strat is paying off for you.
First game i played i had around 20 kills and the only other guy left was a yoroi with 3 kills who had an overshield, used another overshield and had an ordinace land infront of him on his way to bulldog me that had another overshield.
Literally jumped off the edge to end the game and play something else
