So I keep hearing this is going to be the last Halo game for the next 10 years, I don’t know how to feel about this because the game may not turn out as great as we hope it to be which is always a possibility and then we’re stuck with it for 10 years. Even if it is a great game, people will get bored of it. Like I was saying 10 years is a long time to wait for any game. If they make this decision 1) They better release a secondary large campaign 2) Continuously release new content 3) At least give us a Halo Wars 3 somwhere in between 4) The game better be good.
I think they intend to add story dlc to the game as time goes on. I’m hoping since it doesn’t take everyone in 343 to make a dlc they devote time to some spin off games like Halo ODST 2 maybe.
Don’t worry, Halo Infinite isn’t going to be the final title. It’s just going to be an expansive project with a 10 year life expectancy. 343 has said before that spin-offs are inevitable so we might get some of that while content for Halo Infinite comes in during the 10 year course.
It’s made as a platform so we’re almost gonna for a fact get story add ons through out that 10 year time frame. Think of it as MCC to some extent. I think thats what they’re trying to go for. Plus, as a platform and being able to have it as a main focus it should be more than easy for them to fix, upgrade, or add things. This is good because if there are things missing that the fans suggest or think we need they should be able to accomadate that. I know so many people are concerned by I honestly believe 343 has got this game sold.

Kind of feels like it, forcing a 10 year life cycle for 1 game makes it feel like they’ve given up. I don’t want 1/10 of a physical game then 9/10 milked over 10 years of dlc. I feel like going this route is going to hurt Halo in the long term.
I’m worried about the 10 years plan because that means that 343 has to release new content constantly. I guess they will release story dlc but we will see how it works.
I guess this is the end, even when Cortana doesn’t look like the main problem, 10 years after halo infinite i don’t see me playing videogames anymore.
They seem to be going in a “Destiny” like route. They want this game to be a platform they can build upon for several years in the future. Obviously, this could go either horribly wrong or extremely well. I am excited to see what they in the store for the future of this game

Same, they have the potential to do something good. I just hope they will still be able to make side games like HW2 as well

Same here I don’t see myself playing video games in 10 years been playing since the beginning had a lot of fun times
I think we will most likely see the Halo spin off video games happening in future Halo installments. There is a lot of stories they can tell in the Halo spin off video games. I still think we are going to see characters like Jerome-092, Arbiter, Edward Buck and Locke getting their own spin off video games in future Halo video games.
All I can say is, no one will know or can predict what the future holds. We all bring up good points but only time will reveal whether this was a good or bad decision. Either way, we’re all going to be in for one long ride, so lets enjoy it while we can.
I think it is more like a “plan” than anything else. They will be releasing expansions, maps, etc. It is not a bad thing, personally one thing that made me don’t want to spend so much time with games like Modern Warfare, is that all my work will worth nothing in one year.
And you have to remember that it is only a plan… Destiny was meant to be a 10 year game too.

I played games a lot growing up and it bleeds into adulthood pretty well if you let it. While i dont play xbox or playstation more than once or MAYBE twice a week, it’s still an occasional hobby and not much gets me more excited than seeing great games coming out

I understand but im the kind of person that want to complete the game at 100% in the less time possible, and i will take it more like and objective than a hobby, that’s why i don’t want to play anymore 10 years later.
