Last 2 Maps hopes I have

I LOVE Abandon. So unlike Halo, but it looks absolutely awesome. This direction they are going is definitely the best one.

Last 2 maps to be revealed I think are in my opinion -

9th map to be revealed - A BTB map. Technically Exile and Ragnarok are the only true BTB maps. Therefore to satisfy the lovers of big maps, a 3rd one probably will be included in the 10 core maps.

10th and final map to be revealed - A mid-sized map that is symmetrical. This will appeal to the majority of people and definitely be applauded by the competitive crowd and MLG players. It being the last to be revealed I feel as if it will be 343’s best and most amazing map. You know the old saying, “save the best for last”.

Also, as we look at the environmental elements in each map…

1 is snowy. (Longbow)

2 of a dark nature. (Abandon, Adrift)

5 so far sunny / light. (Haven, Exile, Ragnarok, Complex, Solace)

What I hope the last two maps are -

1 of the maps preferably the mid-sized, symmetrical one… to be stormy. A dark nature with storms and clouds. That would really give an awesome variety of environments we play in. Also a balance between light and dark. Rain would make me SO HAPPY but Idk if they’d do that. =/

1 of them to be more battle torn showing remnants of prior battles being taken place on that ground. This could easily be done on a BTB map that gives more room to portray this type of scene. As for the elements surrounding it, perhaps a desert / rock type. Have not seen that yet. Just adds more variety.

So that would bring a good ratio between map elements. 3 Dark, 5 Light, 1 Snowy, and 1 Mixed… (the desert one, could be light with dark features such as sandstorms)

Let me know your opinions and thoughts on the last 2 maps !!

I know right? In halo, I have always desired a rain map… it is such a cool element that goes perfect with war and the whole halo theme.

My thoughts exactly haha, one BTB and one mid-sized in other words 4v4.

Gives a nice balance to the core maps at launch… makes the most logical sense anyway.

Im sure we will be surprised if its anything other wise.

I’d prefer this though.

I’m hoping for a huge map for BTB and especially for vehicle gameplay, the maps so far are good but dont cater to much to vehicle gameplay IMO.

Also Im not sure what you mean by Abandon is unhalo, it seem to fit into a halo game just fine. I think it would have worked well for any other halo game.

I agree on the BTB aspect of your opinion. They need more to balance out the map diversity.

What I mean is… Abandon’s map design is so… new.

I have never seen such an interesting map like this. The environment is very different… I don’t know that is just my opinion.

Gameplay wise of course it fits halo that is not what I meant.

The design and environment is very different from what I am used to in halo.

For the record, I believe Complex to be bigger than Exile, making Complex and Ragnarok to be the only Large maps, whereas Exile and Longbow look to be Medium-Large, leaning more towards Medium. Exile to me reminds me of Rat’s Nest in size, just a little smaller, and Longbow similar to Zanzibar in size.

Anyways, I like your ideas.

For the last two I would like a Medium and a Large one as well.

  1. Medium map
    -Set in a cave/cavern similar to this. Make the paths really interesting, almost like a Lockout/Guardian type effect. Have it be blue in tone, with light peaking through the top just barely, so a few beams of light poking down. With maybe a waterfall coming down on one side of the walls, or from the hole in the ceiling in between the paths obstructing the view between walkways.

  2. Large Map
    -Set on a volcanic setting, with a large volcano and little ash particles falling. It’s in the dark, with a reddish/yellow glow much similar to the Spartan Ops environment with this type of setting. The map would be symmetrical, in a Sidewinder/Avalanche type of horseshoe formation, but with shorter parts of the long version of the U, and an extended elongated curve. Much like these symbols: { [ ( The bases would be on the ends of course, tucked into the side of the mountains. In between the bases you can take the curved part, or you can go through a cave/tunnel system, more elaborate version of what Avalanche had. There would be a bridge in there, with a huge dropoff/pit with lava flowing, illuminating the whole room.

Towards the curved section there would be a dropoff as well, with lava flowing down towards a village. Have a bridge much like the one featured in Forge World, the giant one with the cover that you could put on it, and have that be a walkway up in the air, like featured on Avalanche, except this one you can go up to and on, via the cave system. The surrounding mountains/rock is very dark and blackish, with a light glow on it from the moon and lava, with a dark blue cloudy sky.

The overall size of the layout would be about the size of Avalanche, but think of the curved part as the size a little shorter than Valhalla, and the ends a little shorter than the ones on Avalanche. So overall it would be about the same size as Avalanche or Valhalla, a little bigger, just with some proportions being switched around.

And as for your maps ideas… I love them !! think they are creative and very in depth. The volcano one I am in favor of as being the large map. Maybe not even model after aforementioned Avalanche. Have its own layout you know?! Halo 4 is all about being new and I say bring in more innovative, new ideas. With a new layout it would really bring a lot of fresh new content that we have never seen before. The environment you describe goes perfect with how I envision this halo’s feel to be like.

Hahaha I know right… It is dumb but kinda? if 343 did it right with the capabilities they have I can see a badass rainy map with cool storm clouds and lightning… maybe a really rough ocean with giant waves crashing against rocks… omg the things I’d do for a map like that !

We need a smaller map.

Small - Abandon, Haven

Medium - Adrift, Solace

Large - Exile, Ragnarok, Complex, Longbow

There are already 4 BTB maps, and there are plenty of vehicles on them.

Yeah, I wasn’t saying copy Avalanche’s layout, I was just trying to give an example of the layout that I could best describe. I made a quick mockup sketch of the very basic layout outline, obviously not as detailed as the map would be. HERE

The bases on each end. The caves/tunnels leading into the mountain, and in the middle there’s a lava stream about 30 ft. down, with the lava flowing down under through the volcano/mountain down out to the left there on the picture. You can see the lava stream at the huge dropoff at the curved bend there, where about 100 ft. down you would see the lava pouring down towards a village or some water or something, and turning into magma.

I think it would be an awesome symmetrical map, with an awesome environment.

I want an order for an Extra-medium map lol

Anyways i would like maybe (any size) a map thats in space

Maybe one where between the two bases are non gravity areas :confused: and all that good stuuff

yeah i understand what your saying, on the BTB side of things i would love something the size of hemorrhage but a lot more interesting.

Wait, didn’t they say there were 3 Forge maps? And we’ve seen one, so…?
