LASO and Bandana Skull

Soooo, is Bandana still required for LASO? Went to load my game, and it was turned off. Now unsure if this is an error, and to turn it on, or if LASO now needs to be completed without Bandana. Haven’t seen anyone else ask about this specifically.

Obviously, I’m hesitant to found out for myself, as I’m 64% of the way through the achievement.

05/05/2022 Edit: I can confirm from others (on Reddit and TrueAchievement) that progress for the Headmaster achievement (the LASO achievement) has stopped working. The Bandana skull being turned off by the update seems to have screwed existing saves up, even if you turn the skull back on before you load the game.

Yes. The issue of skulls turning off is discussed in this thread:

Thanks, but I bit the bullet and decided to just load the game after turning Bandana on. Unfortunately, after completing The Sequence and The Nexus, the achievement progress bar is still at 64%. So, it looks like I’ll have to restart LASO, all because the update turned the skull off.

They probably did that on purpose just in case the save had the scorpion gun.

I did think that was a possibility, but others have said that even though they’ve started new saves, the achievement still won’t unlock.

And now they’re adding the Scorpion Gun back anyway. So, if it is the case, saves and progress were messed up for nothing.

Different issue. This one specifically happened to people who had existing LASO files. Their Bandana Skulls were deactivated with the Season 2 update. Fortunately, I had completed my LASO run back in December so I got the achievement. But now my save file has the Bandana Skull unchecked, regardless of whether or not I selected “Continue”, “Load Game”, or didn’t even touch the save file. I submitted a ticket in hopes that they can help others out, but I doubt they’ll be able to save those people who were in progress before update.

Kinda hoping for a LASO 2.0. Honestly, LASO in Infinite was about on-par with Normal in H2. It just did not feel as rewarding as the other games. If they turned off Bandana, prevented you from using the Scorpion Gun (for this new achievement only), reintroduced the Iron Skull, and disallowed some of the game-breaking skips, Infinite’s campaign could pose a satisfying challenge.

Resetting the LASO achievement and deducting the points probably would be reasonable?

343 don’t have that control over gamerscore, and I’m not sure Xbox themselves give or take away individual achievements.
