After 7 full completions of Halo Infinite on LASO, I’m thrilled to say I finally got the achievement to proc.
I know many people are having the same issues that I had so I wanted to break down the step by step as thoroughly as I can to help everyone get this unlocked.
I dubbed this method the “Aspired” Method after my GT as a way to give a quick reference to a strat that hopefully assists other gamers.
Step 1: Create a new save file. Do not use mission replay. Do not use an old file and definitely don’t use a file created before November 8th, 2022. I know mission replay works for some but for me it failed all 6 times.
Step 2: Tank Gun & Duelist Energy Sword.
Note: I did not kill the duelist energy sword elite but just took it from the podium by the HVT spawn. I also allowed myself to grab a Spartan core from one of the banished out posts but I did not try to defeat or claim the outpost. I also recommend not claiming any fobs other than golf. I also did not do any marine squads or HVTs. Percentage completion does not matter to get the achievement.
Step 3: Play through LASO normally. If you need to back out, make sure you load in, do not hit continue.
Step 4: When you reach the sequence, run this mission in Co Op with another player. Banshees are ok. Avoid HVTs and Fobs but if you run past one you should be fine. Once this mission is complete, back out and load LASO solo for the remaining missions.
Step 5: When you get to the harbinger, and you’re on the final damage phase, exchange the tank gun for any other weapon and kill her.
Congrats. You should now have your LASO achievement. Please let me know if this method works for you and if there is any questions please let me know.
Hey! I’m on an old save currently. I’ve completed LASO twice and still not popped!
I noticed while doing my run throughs before replay was available (by going on the tac-map. The odd mission showed completed on the tac map as easy and not legendary! Even tough it was definately legendary with all skulls on. I did not press continue either.
My biggest recommendation is redoing it on a brand new save file. I know this sucks but it’s the only way that worked for me. Good news is tank gun is still a viable option. So you should breeze right through it.

I followed your recommedations, (new slot file) but I want to tell that at some point the “Spire mission” didn’t show up on legendary, so I went on mission replay, and then kill the final boss (Harbinger" without the tank gun.
This was done on coop, with my other friend on new slots.
Maybe the Spire mission or other missions have checkpoints that need to be done, because the game thinks you didn’t pass the mission correctly (this is dumb on a open world game).
I actually had it glitch on me with Spire too where it showed unlocked on “easy” but as I continued you through the game it automatically fixed and showed legendary completed. I hope 343 does something to address the inconsistencies.
Just got this achievement to pop yesterday! I mostly followed this same strategy except for two things:
I did do mission replay once, after I finished “The Spire” and noticed it was only marked as being completed on Easy. I highly recommend checking the previous mission after each and every mission to make sure it is properly flagged. I suspect there may be some logic where you are only given the opportunity to rectify a wrongly marked completion if you do it right away before completing the following mission. From what I’ve read it seems like when people try to go back and complete earlier missions after completing subsequent ones, it doesn’t work for them.
I completed “The Sequence” solo and entirely on foot except for a brief stint in the Scorpion near the South Beacon. I also tried to take main paths as much as possible to trigger any possible load zones that are measured in terms of “completion”
Beyond that, the strats from the OP are solid. Always make sure you load in with explicit difficult/skulls set and keep an eye on that mission tracker at all times. I also followed the step about killing the Harbinger with something other than the scorpion gun (I used a sword) but I’m not sure if it really matters. Better safe than sorry though.
Glad it worked for you! The Sequence was super buggy for me. On one of my 7 attempts of a full LASO it was the only thing that wouldn’t change from “easy” to “legendary”. Hopefully 343 eventually addresses it.
