I really hope these are brought back like in Halo: CE on that part at the end of Two Betrayals where you fought around 30 AI all at once. Hopefully they can do this like in a huge open area, because I was kind of unimpressed by Reach.
Oh yea, and bring more Grunts! There were hardly any in Reach, and they were so annoying to kill, I prefer it when you can just mow down lots of them at once, much more fun.
Yeah, that would be pretty awesome.
Just don’t make it 1v30. Let’s have some help.
I’d like to see more of this too.
Maybe you vs covenant vs new enemy?
You could have a scorpion tank, or some new powerful vehicle, with a couple of tanks, warthogs and a few unsc air flying round.
The covenant could have a few wraiths, hunters, a few banshees flying round, phantoms, a scarab, ghosts, spectres?, revenants, elites, grunts, jackals, maybe engineers.
And the new enemy could have all their equivalent things to the covenant.
OR…
The covenant could team up with you somewhere near the end to take out a small army of this new threat,
Agreed. While Reach did have some pretty large scale battles (mostly on Tip of the Spear), they never really felt like giant battles, probably since they were always infantry battles rather than including vehicles.
I want to feel like I’m in the middle of a ton of carnage, as though the only thing I can do at that moment is shoot, throw grenades, and hope that nobody pays attention to me long enough to take me out.

^^^ This. All of it.
Halo 3’s levels The Ark and The Covenant are what I want for large scale vehicle battles.
Scarab vs. Scarab.
More space battles like in Long Night of Solace or ground battles like in Reach.
> Scarab vs. Scarab.
Always dreamt of a multiplayer map in which two scarabs walk around a platform.
Each scarab is a base, and they walk around the platform in circles.
I know, I know, that’s kinda off-topic, but your post made me think about that.

That’s about 9000% more awesome than off-topic.
You Sir, are a genius.
BOARD THE ENEMY SCARAB!!!
> Halo 3’s levels The Ark and The Covenant are what I want for large scale vehicle battles.
Agreed.bigger the better I say.
Halo CE, 2 and 3 all had just amazing campaigns that you could play over and over again and never get bored. I wouldn’t mind playing Reach’s or ODST’s campaign again but I wouldn’t play them near as many times as Halo CE, 2 and 3’s campaigns.
They had a lot of huge scale vehicle combat battles that went on forever but you also had the variety of indoors, inside huge space ships and just great all round. Especially the large scale vehicle battles.
I hope they all return and make a mixture of all Halo campaigns in Halo 4!

Thanks.
And except for framerate (maybe?), I can’t think of any reason why it would be bad.
Interactive elements in maps are missing since Halo 3-2, and I guess the map would still be symmetrical so it would be fair.
Totally feels good to dream.
I think this would be awesome, having a battle sort of like on Reach’s Tip of The Spear cutscene in the beginning. It would be cool if there was something sort of like that and you could actually play in it.

Sorry for posting twice ina row, but what if in this scarab vs scarab map you fight and also destroy the other teams scarab, like break its legs so it goes down then thats when you jump in and blow it up. It could possibly end the game there or maybe start a new round?

I didn’t really think about destroying the other team’s scarab, but yeah it could be a special gamemode.
But personally, when I say “they walk in circles around a platform”, I’m thinking the platform is at the level of the “walkeable” part of the scarab, so his legs are not really visible unless we look down. Not sure if I’m clear.
But yeah, your version could definitly work, I don’t deny that.
> this is what it made me think of XD
I never asked for this.
> I really hope these are brought back like in Halo: CE on that part at the end of Two Betrayals where you fought around 30 AI all at once.
Absolutely.
The enemy variety was wonderful. The fact that you could bring enemies from previous areas made it better. You could lure that Banshee at Final Run to the last battlefield. I took this even further by bringing the sword Goldie from the twin bridges. I <3 Goldies.
> Hopefully they can do this like in a huge open area, because I was kind of unimpressed by Reach.
Reach was more for sightseeing. I hope Halo stays away from a cinematic approach. I want action in-game, not in cutscenes. Cutscene teases are a disappointment.
> Oh yea, and bring more Grunts! There were hardly any in Reach, and they were so annoying to kill, I prefer it when you can just mow down lots of them at once, much more fun.
The extra headshot required to take off an Ultra Grunt’s helmet is really cheap.

I hope there’s better prioritization. Often, when there’s a fight between Covies and Flood or Covie Loyalists vs. Covie Separatists, if you show yourself, the Covies will focus on you when there’s a bigger, more important threat kicking their -Yoink-. This is amusing and sad.
> The covenant could team up with you somewhere near the end to take out a small army of this new threat,
If this happens, support from them should be bigger.
H2 Great Journey did this quite well. I made an army of Councilor Elites (total of 65 Councilors) and brought all friendly AI that I received to the Tartarus battle. :3
H3 The Covenant did not. Gravemind sends his “best” at the most dire time: 2 Tank Forms and swarms of infection forms. Folks, we have a Noble Team scenario here. Yep that’s right, sit back and watch the Flood decimate the Covies. Really, I was expecting a bunch of Pure Forms.
> Just don’t make it 1v30. Let’s have some help.
Words of wisdom!
Friendly AI make large AI collections much more interesting. Though I do not currently have film of the battle at the hill/aa gun, I can safely say that having Arby around makes it much more fun. If I’m fighting them by myself, I have to abuse the noob combo and have to use cover, a lot (and this is on Easy difficulty).
Likewise, these battles can be frustrating without proper support (the missile Pelican does not constitute proper support. In fact, it contributes to the frustration):
Of course, throwing in Arby and Johnson makes it too easy which is why I have blocked them. I blocked the marines in the prison so I could release them later though I don’t have much time thanks to Mr. Kill-stealing, magic missile firing Pelican that cannot be stopped or deloaded.
These are much more fun since they have friendly AI support:

Agreed, i think we need large scale battles with multiple friendly AI in vehicles and multiple enemy AI in vehicles… and in the beginning you get to pick which one (warthog variants, Mongoose {for the brave only}, scorpion, or falcon)
