Alright, here is a biggie. I’ve had concerns for this from the very beginning, because as well all know the current and past systems of betrayal booting have proven to be somewhat inefficient.
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve been betrayed by my team mates for the Sniper Rifle, and never get the ability to boot. However, I have a high betrayal count from enjoying Grifball so I typically get booted on the first offense 90% of the time for accidental betrayals.
Then, throw in the concern for passive betraying and even further team mates who hound you and pop your shields. I’m not saying Friendly Fire should be turned off, because even I can see how disastrous that could be to gameplay.
There need to be a new, improved system put in to play. If not for Halo 4, then for future titles. People who have a preferred weapon set, know this pain more than anyone else. Snipers, namely.
I’ve even been betrayed because I was nearing a perfection on countless occasions with no option to boot or otherwise.
Maybe have a system that measures the damage done to you by your team mate, that judges by weapon as well so a stray rocket or grenade won’t be judged as intentional. Maybe throw in some awareness for enemies in the vicinity to account for things such as passive betrayals as well.
There are so many things that could be done to improve this otherwise broken system. The three strike rule us just, so easy to abuse for so many players and it’s nerve wrecking. I can’t possibly be the only one with concerns for the betrayal system.
Does anyone else have thoughts or input, maybe suggestions to how it can be improved? I’m really gunning for a complete overhaul of this system.
Well, in the killcam now it shows who betrayed you as well.
So you can check if it was by accident or on purpose.

Yes, but you are also aware of how many people just boot without a thought. I usually know who betrayed me, and why. The issue is that the system should be better at detecting what was done or the circumstances of the betrayal to more accurately determine whether or not the betrayal was intentional or not.
It is more about, being intentionally betrayed but never getting the option to boot than being able to see if it was an accident or not.
I kinda think the whole Team Votes to kick a player is best that would get rid of AFK and betraying I know there are some problems with it but it seems better than getting betrayed around 6 times with no option to boot then betray once by accident and get booted

Yeah, maybe they could somehow implement the killcam/betrayal cam and the system can determine it etc.

That’s actually a very good idea, I never thought of that. It could certainly work very well if implemented correctly. You may be on to something.
And, DarkCullen: The Team Vote thing is a good idea, however my issue is what happens if I pick up the Sniper in BTB and someone in a larger party wants it? They could easily boot me or my team mate for doing something else.
The system is decent, and does correct many of the flaws with Halo Reach’s system. However, I believe it would bring upon even greater problems than it would solve.
And they should put betraying back in infection, or flood mode now.
