I cant speak French or read Chinese or Spanish, but I once had a French copy of Halo 2, listening to the latest sparkcast got me wondering, what other Earth languages are spoken in the time of masterchief? in the firefly universe it was English and Chinese, I liked that idea.
When I played H2 the grunts were hilarious in French, how can I get a French copy of anniversary? does anyone know a decent online store? (I tried changing the language last night but all I got was subtitles}
I’m sure every country still speaks their own local language but the de facto UNSC language is English.
What worries me is that no else has mentioned it (to my knowledge) MW3 goes out of its way to be inclusive with the SAS Delta Force and Spetnaz. Does anyone else see a problem with this unworldly approach to a worldwide franchise? in space it will be all Texans, kiwis, Brits and Canadians? I mean who needs all those pesky Euros and Yuan right? Wrong. It would not kill the community to have a few mandarin phrases in the game might even make it a bit realistic, maybe even widen the appeal
I have no problem with all Christian symbolism, but in 300/500 years time I find it hard to believe that my language is all that survives just saying…
And does anyone know where I can find me a French version online?
Well in We are ODST the DI(and I’m assuming the rest of the Cadre)spoke German[?]. So I’m sure there are several units,platoons,squads who speak their native tongue(except for the Officers who would probably be required to learn English in OCS). Edit: I would like to add that in Reach we see Jorge speaking Hungarian, so it’s safe to assume that there are plenty of colonies who still speak all of the major languages
So he does, good catch but I would bet on French Spanish and Chinese making it into space in reverse order. Hungarian? that’s a long shot possible tho
