Landing the Banshee...

I’m really hoping someone can help me in regards to flying the Banshee in Halo 5 - or rather, “landing” this vehicle properly. While I’ve become accustomed to the actual flying controls well enough, bringing the Banshee to a complete stop has become problematic to say the least.

In fact, is there any way to slow down completely and bring this vehicle to a halt? The closest I’ve come to this feat is by slowing the landing with each analog stick (as much as it will allow) and then pressing “X” to hop out while it’s still in motion. It’s not very ideal, but there’s really no brakes on this thing… that I know of anyway.

Not to mention, I can’t find a “control layout” anywhere that details the flying controls in more specific detail.

Anyhow, any help would be greatly appreciated… thanks.

I’m afraid that there is no way to keep a Banshee still while it’s in the air. The best way to land it is to get it near a wall where it can’t fly further, and just get out there. That’s the closest thing to parking you can get with it.

Ahh, thanks a bunch for the info pal. That’s what I thought. After trying endlessly to land this vehicle without any help from a nearby wall, it looks as if that’s really the only way to slow down completely.

Anyhow, it’s kinda’ strange to have such an over-sight with these flying controls - because if I can recall correctly, didn’t previous Halo’s allow more “stopping power” with the analog sticks? Oh well, thanks again for the help.

I think 343 should dial down the landing…
I’m always afraid the Banshee is going to fly off the roof while I try to exit out onto it.

In what situation are you looking to land a Banshee?

When I land my banshee I make sure I run over a few Spartans before I exit the vehicle.

Well, pretty much any situation that requires my desire to exit the vehicle. Not that hopping-out while it’s still in motion is that big of a deal, but it’s still a nice feature to have.

Banshee flying in Halo 5 is terrible. It’s impossible to land on a platform without having your banshee fall off and keep going. It was much better in the older games; you could actually land it safely in one spot.

…why are you getting out of your banshee AND caring about what happens to it… if your getting out of your banshee it should either almost be destroyed or in campaign the level stops yous taking it any further. Either way it doesn’t matter what happens to it. if your worried about dying when you get out just fly it into the ground not along it (though i have never died exiting a banshee). This is coming my a person whos main vehicle is the banshee (and warthog) in all halo games. You NEVER get out a banshee to cap bases, ect and only trade it for a mantis (maybe a tank if your not great in a banshee but good in a tank). Why? because you dont want the enemy team to get a good banshee, clear the area with the banshee and wait for team mates to cap it

Hmm, well elites didn’t do to well with them so the “Mr No Breaks” version in H5 should tell that it’s a fast assault vehicle that should always ends it’s life Kamikaze style!

But why would you exit a perfectly good Banshee?! Get out there and wreck some Spartans mate. If you need to exit because its about to blow up then get out. Ain’t no Banshee pilots earning their wings by landing the things lol.

You land a Banshee by splattering so many people it brings you to a full halt.
