I have to say, I kinda enjoy this mode. Every additional mode is very welcome!
Yeah, the nade spam can be annoying, but if you go out of the zone at the right moment, you might avoid being killed.
Bigger and more maps would be nice, ngl.
If anybody at 343 is reading this: The event progression stinks - just like Tenrai’s progression. Please reconsider you choice of keeping it that way, 'cause it’s a pure bummer. Can’t be that hard to create a separate “Event Challenges” list. Let us complete the event challenges without having to finish our normal weeklies, please for the love of Master Chief. I can’t imagine that you received ANY positive feedback on this matter. Pretty much the whole community dislikes this unnecessary progression system, which only benefits you - due to more sales of challenge swaps.

Eeeeh…just feels very boring with a dash of futility.
Played a few matches before work and it could just be bad games I played, could be people wanting their Capture Challenges, maybr people need to learn how to play it, but they just weren’t fun.
Games typically start with teams just standing and grabbing the nearest points, some battle for the third point, maybe not, and at least in my experience it has felt like whichever team triumphs and gets that third point is most likely the one that wins. Given the speed of the captures and other factors, a team that gets defeated and put on the backfoot has a very hard time coming back.
So what endes up happening in my matches is that the majority of the time is standing and grabbing the easiest point, whichever team gets ahead stays ahead, and it just feels like such a futile, boring slog that even when you get to the end where the more limited points encourage a bit more contestation, it just doesn’t make it feel fun at all.
I was pretty ‘meh’ with Last Spartan Standing but eventually came to enjoy it to make it my go-to when it comes to completing FFA-focused Challenges (even winning my first and only LSS match to complete a 2k Scoring Challenge along with a 1 Backslap and 1/2 PvP wins). I don’t think that’s going to happeb to Land Grab though.
Also that frustrating knowledge of knowing the Entrenched stuff I really want (Kerberos Helm and Wizard’s Pockets, for examples) I’m not gonna be able to get and gonna have to wait until the Event pops up again.
I feel like there should be Event Tokens that you can earn from completing Challenges and turn them in to unlock the Event Loot, much like the system they use for the Season Passes in MCC.

for me it sucks for the same reason strongholds sucks. as soon as you spawn you need to run toward the closest objective and gun down anyone you encounter on the way. no room for strategy, weapon sandbox gunplay, etc. you could say the same for KOTH but at least in KOTH (at least in the classic H3 KOTH) you have time to take a detour to grab a map weapon, sneak behind the enemy and stuff. but in this mode (and strongholds) everything happens so fast it doesnt make sense to not run toward the objective.
it totally takes away anything that makes halo good, so its an easy skip for me. it can work in BTB or even in arena with more than 3 objectives and 8 players, but with the current settings its as boring as they come.
I still cant believe they keep coming up with these BS gamemodes no one ever asked for but classics like VIP and assault are left out. insane. (granted, land grab is a classic variant of territories but at least it was a variant, not a gamemode. Id rather have had H3 style BTB landgrab than this, and it would have made more sense considering the entranced theme)

I actually kind of like Landgrab. I like it better than LSS. It’s similar to a SWAT variant I had mentioned in another thread.
My only complaint is that at one point none of my active challenges were for the event.
I have to complete five Fiesta matches, five Team Slayer matches and get a cumulative score (only 2000) in Quickplay. I am basically taking them as close as I can now and tomorrow I’ll pop a double XP.

I personally enjoy this game mode. It is a lot more fun than the slow paced Last Spartan Standing mode. I would like to see more maps added to the playlist, but overall I do enjoy it.

Gods yeah that is a bit of an issue, huh? I only progressed 4 levels in the BP today. That might seem like a lot but, day one that’s not a lot.

uhhh, they literally added Last Spartan Standing to BTB last week.
As for Land Grab, it’s just a minor variation of Strongholds. 343 needs to knock it off with all the game modes tbh. Focus on the most popular and stop splitting the player base more. Also, completely separate objective playlists from slayer playlists. And finally, get rid of Power Seed in BTB. Literally no one likes it and most of the time never plays the objective.

I think juggernaut would actually fit this event better for a 4v4. They sure fit the picture best. Or maybe Land Grab on BTB sounds much better. It just moves way too fast on a 4v4 where spartan fights snowball very quickly.

Same - maybe Tier 5? I can’t remember. The only active Landgrab challenge I have right now is 50 kills. I figure I’d stack some event challenges instead of going for that.

Last spartan standing is not BTB it is FFA using BTB maps BTB mean Big TEAM Battle not free for all get it right

ah yeah, true, it is FFA and it sucks tbh on such big maps. They need to increase the player count to 24 and then allow LSS on the Arena maps with 8 players imo.

I actually don’t think that’s a good idea. The mode is to create tension. A small map is too easy for players to feel the stress of finding each other. It kind o like Attrition. The match doesn’t even feel like two teems tactically having a showdown. its just a parade and endlessly reviving each other.
Maybe BTB should be a higher game pop, but an 8 player FFA on BTB maps is just fine.

I disagree I hate CTF in Arena but love it in BTB and If I remember old school King of the hill was played on BTB maps back in the days.
