I had a large Lan party scheduled for this weekend had brothers from out of town flying in, old room mates, close friends, food, drinks, renting additional TVs the works, it was going to be an all night slug fest.
Cancelled… all of it… flight plans cancelled… deposits on TVs wasted. food going to rot in my fridge
The best gaming experience ever… EVER… gone… just gone…
RIP splitscreen/LAN parties/Halo experience
Did you not bother checking before hand? Its been known for months that splitscreen was not in.
Might want to do your research before planning large events.
Who even like splitscreen still or does it? I always found it annoying in any game, yes, even as a kid back on the SNES playing Mario Kart. But you should have checked into it more. If they all have their own consoles just do custom games and play against each other.
I can’t believe that you would be a big enough fan of the series to arrange a large LAN party, yet be unaware that Halo 5 is missing split-screen. These posts are really too numerous. Also you have not played the game yet.

riight…sounds like someone didn’t get the memo that was posted on just about every social media with regards to splitscreen for this game. besides why not save all that money and just play online with everyone, or just go anyway and use those extra tvs with some extra xbones so that everyone just has their own in the same room? I mean it is 2015 and just about everyone has internet and their own TV and most likely their own console
This is getting pretty old, but I can understand where people are coming from if they haven’t been keeping up with the news. It’s not like they had a commercial on TV saying split screen co-op doesn’t exist anymore.
Fight big gaming! Fight splitscreen?

So wait you already had additional tvs, food, and everything all set right? All you need to do is have your buddies bring their X1 and you can all still play together. I throw lan parties ALL the time at least 2-3 a month. And everyone that comes over for the lan party, brings their own tv and their own X1.
Also I call bs because there is no way flight plans just get cancelled 3 days in advance. This is a troll reply for sure.
Lol, LAN parties require others to bring their own xbox. Thats how it should be. LAN parties were created by PC and everyone would bring their setup to the location thats a LAN party having some friends round and playing split screen is not a LAN party.
Where on Earth can you RENT televisions in this day and age? Wouldn’t it be cheaper to pick up a couple of $50 sets?
