Dear 343 industries i had a question about Lan connection, could it be possible in a future software or title update to include this feature in halo 5 guardians? Spam and troll messages need not apply you will be flagged
It sure is possible, hopefully they’ll include it in the future.
I would love to see an option to play over LAN included in the future. In fact I recently made a post discussing this (https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/6e35355aecdf4fd0acdaee3cc4156fd4/topics/halo-5-subpar-internet/17fa2c79-a85d-4351-952f-3afd74ca2ea2/posts?page=1).
I really hope that the community can come together and get 343 Industries to implement this feature in a post-laugh content update. So far, it seems that the majority of the waypoint community doesn’t want this feature, which is unfortunate.
Anyways, I’m glad that someone else is wanting this feature. Hopefully, there will be many more who want LAN play included too.
It doesn’t seem like it’d be hard to implement, as far as tech goes. Maybe it has something to do with piracy.

Piracy? How does system link (which is what a LAN game connection is) make a game easier to pirate?
Yes bring back the Lan party. Was years before i played online MM and still prefer lan parties so i can see the look of defeat in my buddies faces as i headshot em for the win

There is nothing better than being able to see the people’s reactions in person, while your gaming with them.

You don’t need to be connected to xbox live. There are also online “lan” sites, which use the lan function of a game and setup a vpn style connection that makes the pc or console thing it’s connect locally.

Interesting, I’ve never known about those sites. They do seem like they would download malware; however, I don’t see how either of your above mentioned points pertain to obtaining and playing a copy of the game you haven’t paid for because with system link you had to have a valid copy of the game just to set up system link. Because the requirements to own a game are either:
- You own a disc.
- You own a digital license that’s associated w/ your XBL account. Also, another fix for the above mentioned problems is to handle LAN play like the MCC does. Where you have to be connected to Xbox live, but if you have multiple consoles connected to the same network most of the game related data will stay on the LAN, while the only data leaving the LAN would be to maintain a connection to Xbox live.
Furthermore, it sounds like the vpn sites were used to circumvent having to play for Xbox live, and that they didn’t necessarily have anything to do with pirating a copy of the game.

They have legit uses. Older PC games may not have online but they have lan. Also Halo Online for PC, which is a travesty not being released world wide.
^ Thanks for letting me know. That’s actually pretty cool. BTW I edited my previous post with some additional statements.
I feel like we’re derailing the thread… So, how would you feel about Halo 5 having system link?
I’m all for it. Got a buddy coming over later with his xbone and we’re planning on running through some MCC using lan.
Hate to bump post but where is this?
