LAN Campaign Server Hosting: Splitscreen Co-op's Modern Replacement

As the title suggests.

With the confirmation that split-screen co-op will not come to Halo Infinite, I think the logical next step to keeping in-room co-op alive is to allow users to spin up their own LAN server for campaign sessions, very similarly to how you can spin up a LAN multiplayer server.

I think this might even allow for a large portion of the current online co-op net-code to be used (or at least used as a starting point). What are your thoughts on this as a potential feature?

Edit: I still regularly have LAN parties, so while I’m not bothered by the decision to remove split screen, I would like to see some solution implemented for offline / local co-op experiences.
