Just recently the servers have gone downhill in australia, I use to wait maybe 1-2 minutes for a game, which would be perfect, no delay, no lag. Now I find games instantly, but the quality is terrible. I assume this is because cross country play is now how matchmaking games are found.
Unfortunately now I can’t play competitively because I always have about a half second delay.
Please revert to connection based searching, or at least give an option, I can’t compete with this garbage ping.
They are planning to bring in the option but I agree. Im going to finish maxxing my weapon commendations then will quit Halo until connection can be prioritized again. Not worth the frustration.
It’s so bad. Sometimes throwing grenades lags and I kill myself in the wall or I’m shot before I see someone.
When will this be fixed?
Have noticed it’s laggy in btb, but also that I’m actually getting games. Swings and roundabouts.
Been mostly fine in slayer and arena.

Quit HALO 5, quitting HALO means not doing anything in relation to the HALO franchise (you don’t want that, do you?)
I wonder if its because they have opened it up so we can play on US servers. I have noticed the same lag in the last couple of days, incidentally I have also noticed a lot more American accents in games in the last couple of days. For instance last night on a number of matches everyone else on my team had a US accent.
Yep, that’s it KPS. It’s the worst method of finding games. They need to make a option, I’m happy to wait a bit longer for a game if it’s going to be a good connection.
I’m pretty sad because I have no chance of making onyx this month now :’(

I find that it’s either really slow in gameplay, or really slow waiting for a game.
Yeah agree Malfstorm - I was going for diamond in SWAT this month but SWAT is badly affected by lag and the last 2 days have been a struggle on SWAT.
Ever since April 23rd I can play every playlist without waiting or not being able to join. Before that I could only play Warzone. So whatever has happened to make me play all the playlist with the sacrifice of playing different nations… So be it!

I’m of the same opinion. I’ve been playing on US servers almost all weekend. Its not easy to win, but at least I get to play.

Yep.
Really haven’t noticed a drop off in the connection in the more popular lists. A little flakier than when I first got the game, but I’m sure that’s down to population.
For BTB, it’s literally the difference between getting a game all the time and never getting a game. The lag is noticeable, but not game breaking most of the time.

Yeah its a tough win on the US servers since they opened it up I feel like Platinum and Diamond in Australia is the equivalent of Gold and Platinum in the US… It’s not just the lag, although like I said on SWAT sometimes its pretty crud - having said that I waited almost an hour to get a game of SWAT in Aust the other week. This April season has been really bad for finding matches in Australia and I wonder if the population has dropped off so much in Australia 343i had no choice but to open it up. Either way I’m finding games pretty quick.

Well let’s prey to the gods they give us an option. Finding games quickly Is fine and dandy, but when you lag the whole time, what’s the point. The old matchmaking was a Lot cleaner

I have considered this many a time. Late player so I am gonna be suffering a lot til I am done. Woe is me.
yeah option would be great. When I’m playing SWAT I’d go local, but playing TA or social matches I just want to find matches fast.
Yep, Pretty much ready to drop Halo till they fix this issue. It’s impossible to be competitive when you are half a second behind the enemy. The only positive I have heard are a few people saying well now I get FFA games. but they are laggy and unplayable.
What ever they did has made it even harder to play arena for me. Some days ill find games within a few seconds and not lag at all, other days (like today) i cant find anything. I have not been searching for 53 mins straight in various arena playlist and yet to find a player.
Yet XBL works fine on any other multiplayer game.
The servers are so hit and miss these days.
Yea ive Laid down my controller till its fixed. I wemt from an average 2.5kdr to between 0.4-1.6… ny the time you get 5 magnum shots in them they manage to get behind a wall, so you get shot first and your final shot doesnt register. I play arena to rank up, not to play dying behind walls, always being last to melee. 343. I know you done something naughty to us australian gamers (even if we been begging for no more region lock haha) id ditch FFA the best playlist btw for stable slayer. Love you 343 you cuties
oh! took 1 hour and 3 mins to find one game, spent the time watching shows while i waited, lets see if it takes another hour after that !
