Lagging and crashing during loading multiplayer

Hey everyone!

Please help.

I’ve been playing Halo 2 anniversary on steam and I recently started having this problem. After matchmaking occurs and the map is being loaded, the loading bar will stop about 1/4 of the way in, this lasts for about 20 seconds. It then resumes, the game seems to load, but then I’m kicked out and back in the matchmaking queue. It doesn’t happen if I try to play halo 3. I have re-installed halo 2, that didn’t work. I then re-installed steam and re-installed halo 2 once again. The problem is still happening. If anyone can help with this, I’d really appreciate it! I miss playing halo 2 anniversary.
