Ok, so when I fly a ghost over say a straight line, buddy is 2 full lengths of hog to left, and he then moves farther away, bam I betray him in no space…
Previous games were aim on target, hit target, perfection lag free.
Recent games now are lag full, 2-10 second delay. I watched a fire fight where everyone shot everyone for 2mins straight with no deaths… no announcements of deaths. We were all moving left right strafing, etc… it wasn’t a disconnect glitch, we were still all there…
My home internet in canada, is 50mbps down, 3mbps up. No dl’s, no programs, no servers of anything else but xbox. Nothing. I’ve reset mdm, router.
My cable modem levels are 43/2 (rx/tx), and us/ds are 40/28. ie, perfection for general cable modems signal wise (if anyone understands that, perceive it as the sweet spot).
I was actually just going to ask the same question to see who else is experiencing this horrible lag specially in Spartan Ops. It’s so bad that it’s unplayable. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not always this way. But out of an hour I spent playing Spartan Ops, at least 20 minutes is spent lagging.
Furthermore, here is a bit on my background. I have a Netgear WNDR3800 router. My router and most of my electronics are connected to a plug that automatically turns off everything from 2AM until 8Am. In short, my router is always refresh and ready to go. This allows it to clear anything utilized by ram or virtual memory. My internet provider is Comcast. I have 30Mbps up/6Mbps down. When I play, there’s no streaming or music being downloaded and so on. Just to be safe, I called my Comcast and Microsoft to make sure there wasn’t any problems with my xbox or internet. Everything is good on my end.
After further research, I came to the conclusion that 343 Industry are having server issues that’s not being reported to us; or they are distributing our bandwidth with those that are on slower connection. Kind of how MW3 has their servers set up. This allows the game to play evenly without giving any given player more advantage than the other. In a way, it also builds frustration because I didn’t pay premium internet to be throttle during gaming because others can’t afford anything faster than 1.5 or 6 Mbps.
In the end, 343 will lose more players than they will gain over something that should have been addressed before the game was released to us. Let’s hope there’s a fix for this soon.
> how has this not been fixed yet? i like the game and all but the main parts of it are almost useless if i cant play with friends…
It has been fixed, but there are still many matches with BS connection problems. So nothing more to expect on a game with low population and P2P hosting.
