Just letting 343 know since yesterday, Halo 4 has been latency spiking and there is a lot of lag. I had a look at the networking and playing on UK servers it can go from 43ms to over 120ms and back down again. It was better earlier but like yesterday its all over the place again. Bodies are teleporting. Im wondering if this is an on-going issue? Its definitely at the dedicated servers end as they are all latency spiking. No issues on any other game but The Master Chief Collection.
That being said the added addition of choosing which servers to play on is a fantastic add-on, better then the other company did it.
As this appears to be an issue with your game, we recommend heading over to https://aka.ms/HaloSupport for further assistance. Please review the latest known issues and submit a ticket if your issue is not listed.
Thanks!
Well no its not an issue with ‘my game’’ its an issue with the dedicated servers…This post wasn’t a complaint post, it was asking other people if it was an on-going issue.
170-440 MS spikes on a european server has never happened before and there is high latency across all servers. You only have to go into networking and look at the MS pings to see its all over the place. Its been happening for 2 days now. I’ve already submitted a ticket, but again this post wasn’t a complaint, it was asking other gamers about it, as the ticket was already submitted.
I can anecdotally confirm seeing the lag spikes on US servers, jumping wildly upon using the refresh feature in the networking tab. ~50ms spikes, only occurring on 1-2 US servers (East 2 or West, iirc.) I thought it might be my internet, but I just de-selected the server(s) for the day and went about my business. I have a decently solid networking setup as well, so an issue on my end that day seems increasingly unlikely imo.
I hope 343i maintain MCC support until it is truly polished and complete. It’s taken 8 years to come this far, and there is some truly incredible work going into MCC and visible progress, but I hope they’re able to finish the job.
(This includes securing the dedicated servers against potential state-sponsored hackers and stealth malware server-side. Clearly private corporations are being targeted by these hacker groups- probably bc they cannot effectively defend themselves, or even retaliate in a meaningful way, compared to government-sponsored cyber capabilities.
…& honestly: Halo, Xbox, Microsoft… are massive targets, at least in my semi-educated opinion. With E3 coming up and Infinite’s launch around the corner, I just thought I should mention this in light of the recent cyber attacks on the private sector.) Sorry for veering somewhat off-topic here haha.
TL;DR
I seent it
