Lag spikes whenever I move

Not sure what is causing this, but whenever I move in-game, I get huge lag spikes that make the game unplayable. Tried uninstalling MCC and reinstalling it and it didn’t help. Currently playing VIA Xbox Game Pass on PC.

I have the exact same issue! I actually tried using the game with a xbox one controller and it works perfectly, but whenever I use my mouse and keyboard it’s completely laggy. Not sure if you’re experiencing the same issues.

No -Yoink-? Gonna try my controller and get back to y’all about that!

I mean I don’t think that’s any solution but it worked for me, but I still would prefer playing with mouse and keyboard when I’m on PC.
Edit: Found the solution, if you have razer cortex close it or something. It caused extremely big lag spikes to me.

Are you running Razer Cortex in the background? I had this exact same issue with Gears 5 on game pass and going into task manager and ending Cortex solved the problem. I haven’t had that problem with either that game or MCC on Steam.

Not sure if this is the same problem but my game goes super choppy but the frame counter is saying 150+ still…

Thank you. Had this issue with Gears 5 since launch and noticed the same with MCC. MCC now works flawlessly so Cortex must’ve been my issue too

Anyone else having a controler input delay on PC along with the massive lag spikes?

Lol I wish I would have waited 2 minutes before uninstalling and reinstalling. I have the razer app up and have been having that same issue.

Guys its an issue with Razor Cortex. It works for me once I end Razor Cortex and I am using the Windows 10 version of it.

I had the same problem start out of nowhere. Every time I moved the mouse, the animation stuttered. No graphic setting modifications would fix it.
So I started shutting down apps left and right to see what may be causing it.
Turns out LG’s firmware app “OnScreen Control” was my problem as Easy Anti-Cheat reported an “untrusted system file” related to it every once in a while after shutting down the game.

I recommend shutting down some apps to isolate and report which one is causing the problem.
Good luck

same here… whenever you move the mouse…LAG LAG LAG LAG… and this is on a 2080ti 32gig ram and a 9900K. Piss poor effort by devs.

Yea the mouse doea feel a bit weird, not as fluid as it should be. Its like moving the crosshair is inconsistent

Thats not really what they are talking about Ayu. These are massive lag spikes that take fps from 100 to 10, but only when you move the mouse.

I dont have razer and cant find the program thats doing it to me, oh well if its not fixed by halo 3 than whatever.

So, when I play I lag every now and then and usually when I’m in combat with another player online or just running around my screen goes black and then I wait for a few secs and just respawn exactly where I was? Is this what’s been happening to you guys? I don’t have a razer cortex. I havent tried using controller as I want to use keyboard and mouse. Can someone help?

yep that fixed my problem, thx for sharing

So, I have found a temporary solution. Currently running Halo from the Microsoft Store.
I’ve run into the issue and only found people talking about Razer Cortex and some other people pointing towards background apps.
I haven’t exactly isolated the problem but I was able to fix my issue by literally ending the processes of all my background apps that weren’t necessary.
I’ll include a full list of applications I turned off. Hoping this helps anyone out!

Applications ended:
Adobe CC
NZXT CAM
iCue
Steam
GPU tweak 2
Timely Memory Tracker
Rainmeter
Wallpaper engine
Teamviewer
Displayfusion

Most people say it’s due to the faulty anti-cheat. Some say it’s from program overlays. Either way, I can successfully confirm doing this has given me ZERO input lag and smooth gameplay with V-sync on or off. ON multiple boots of the game. Essentially any problem I was running into from the get-go has been fixed.
I hope this helps anyone out!

I am having this issue as well.
Fps stays a solid 200-300, but the game is ghosting and stuttering when using keyboard and mouse.
Using game pad gets rid of most of the problem.

I don’t think 343 properly implemented keyboard and mouse (should be raw input), and the maps (terrain/textures) almost feel as if locked at 60fps even without cap. Cross hair moves higher, but everything else is left a jittery laggy mess.
Feels almost criminal to be forced to use a game pad on a pc fps

You will only suffer this issue if you have a high refresh monitor from what I gather.

I am on a 240hz monitor, and the problem is as clear as day.
Game was obviously months away from launch ready.

This solved my issue, thanks for the simple fix :slightly_smiling_face:
