For the love of God, please, FIX THE NETCODE.
This game will be a mere shadow of past glories if 343i don’t sort out the fundamental problems currently blighting Matchmaking in the very near future. People will leave. Those who argue “it’s fine for me, I have no problems at all, stop moaning” do not help the dire situation AT ALL for the many, many players who are enduring endless bouts of unfair matches riddled with JIP failures and the worst lag since Crysis 2.
THESE ISSUES ARE REAL AND WIDESPREAD. We’re getting tired out and worn out by them. When will it stop? WILL IT STOP AT ALL? If so, what is the ETA? Please, give us some encouraging news before its too late to undo the damage.
It’s NOT OUR connections at fault; it’s 343’s BROKEN matchmaking system. I’m on 30mb fibre optic and on Battlefield 3 PC I get 17 Ping. My connection is generally outstanding in all other online games. IT’S NOT OUR FAULT.
Two weeks have passed now. Reach too had server issues in its launch week, but they were largely rectified IN LAUNCH WEEK. Not so here.
Please 343, what are YOU doing about this very real situation? SPEAK TO US. The clock is ticking…
I apologise in advance for my passionate outburst, but I speak for my whole team when I say we are close to closing the chapter on our once glorious favourite online multiplayer. I sincerely beg of you not to let that actually happen. Yes this is dramatic, but we’re angry and frustrated, please understand that.

My friends and I were waiting for about 15-20 minutes to find a match yesterday. I just gave up and haven’t played since. I’ll try again tomorrow.
I feel for ya, man. I’m also sick of this crap. EVERY match (and I mean EVERY match) I played tonight had at least one blackscreen in them. EVERY game. And the lag…I’m sad to say I actually rage quit it was so bad, I couldn’t take it anymore. I went to playing Black Ops 2. I can’t believe it was that bad. :’(
I feel your pain. I didn’t until last night. I had a real smooth experience from launch till the playlist update yesterday.
Now I’m teleporting everywhere or someone else is. SWAT has people sponging full clips of headshots(check my file share).
The worst absolute worst part is that it seems to be going the route of Gears 3. Game was flawless at launch then boom, DLC broke the region filter and then you couldn’t get a match without invincible Canadians or players from Mexico/Spain/France etc. Aggressive lag compensation gives them the advantage all day because they will obviously be lagging connecting to an American host.
Last night I had lobbies full of Mexico/Canada. Not dealing with this again.
As far as my own team is concerned (UK), our biggest, most damning problems are a combination of never ending fluctuations in latency and permanently unfilled slots in Infinity Slayer - where a full team on both sides is vital to ensure a fair match. The game frequently starts a match with only seven players in total. Even if someone quits after the match is started; the empty slot will be almost guaranteed to stay empty for the remainder of the match. JIP in Infinity Slayer is broken, this is indisputable.
And if I see another enlarging yellow lag bar turning red in a match I’m going to press eject and play frisbee with the disc.
These are not exaggerations. This stuff is happening time and time again to the point of exhaustion.

Host will favor one of us, but not both. Love getting ‘3 shotted’ by the DMR.
Bump, does need to be seen. It seems like it’s getting even worse really.
I even put Battlefield3 in because I got sick of it…

Yep. I’m one of those Texas players. Always Canada and Mexico in my lobbies, which is freaking stupid. Fix your region filter 343, no one, NO ONE wants to play with this kind of latency.
Don’t let Halo 4 be the next Gears of War 3.

This drives me nuts, worse, I’ve noticed this since Halo REACH.

Ya I remember playing a game of slayer and shooting a guy in the head 8 times with a DMR and nothing happening to him. Got his shields out but all the other shots didn’t faze him.
It’s like I have to force myself to enjoy this game. It will probably my shortest played Halo to date. With all these issues and all the other good games coming out in the near future, this game will probably just collect dust.
Thanks so much for the support guys. Please continue to keep this thread and others like it alive so that we might be heard. We deserves better than this, and so does Halo.
343 needs to answer to this issue. I suggest tweeting them as well.
I hadn’t had trouble… till today. Googled it and wow, guess I’m lucky I was able to play for so long without trouble.
I’m hoping that going facebook and posting my frustration will get them to at least say something. It’s pretty sorry for a game of this budget and hype to be suffering from this kind of lag. I’m in New Mexico very close to Texas and bullet sponging enemies are pretty common. Frequently rubber banding is an issue.
I will dump Halo 4 for COD if this doesn’t get fixed. I won’t like it, but I’ll do it. 
I’m not to the point of being irate just yet because my experience with this issue hasn’t been unbelievably frequent, but it has started to happen more lately, and when it has happened it has been worse than it was initially.
How come I can be in a match with fairly decent connections, a player drops out, and then another one might join and RUINS it for EVERYONE? Red bars galore!
