Want to introduce my ‘persona’ as it were, and make some comments on the game and ask some questions. First off I was just playing firefight, “Attack On Sanctum”, and the lag that I experienced in game made the game unplayable!! So I left the game…In the game I was ‘jumping forward’ as I ran in jumps of, oh, 50 to a 100 feet? So I would run past my opponents or right into them! This lag phenomenon has happened before and in another recent game I ran right up to a hunter, who disposed of me in short order!! I was displeased to say the least!
Is this lag a common thing?, with me the game is smooth at least 75% of the time. I did see some evidence in previous games where some of the covenant troops were standing still, and would only react when you shot them! If this continues (I hope not!) then I’m going to have a problem.playing firefight…This game is hard enough the way it is, with out having lag!
I started playing firefight about a month ago, after my son had broken me in on ODST and ‘Reach’ about 3 years ago. I know, I’m sure that I’m old enough to be the father
of many people on this board. Nonetheless I have used computers and xbox for quite a number of years now, and I like, well mostly like, the Halo series game play.
There are several ‘bad’ things that really stand out about this game, one is the tremendous amount of time that is WASTED in the game from re-spawing, or getting a reg
fulfilled. I was playing yesterday and wanting for a reg vehicle, and kept seeing the message ‘vehicle bay is busy’, this went on for about 35 seconds!! Absurd!! I counted the time lost in game from re-spawns a few days ago, and it was some thing like 1.5 minutes!! That is crazy!! When you only have 5 minutes to play to lose that much time is a virtual guarantee that you will lose the game!! In that case what is the point in playing if you know that your odds of winning are very low from lost time?
I have lost track of the times when at the end of a game, there would be a queue of vehicles lined up trying to get a shot at the final boss, who often times was buried and VERY hard to get a shot at, with the result the mission would ‘fail’ and I would have ANOTHER defeat in my win/lose column!
I have found that the promethean troops are difficult to kill off as they will re-assemble after you shoot them to bits!! The covenant troopers will obligingly keel over, if you
knock off their shields!!
In my opinion, the first weapons in level one are way too WEAK to compete against the prometheans! Against the covenant, they are barely adequate…One thing that I find amusing about the premise of this game, is the choice of weapons employed by the humans…This is supposedly the year 2550 Ad, right?
The enemies are using advanced energy weapons, and ‘we’ are using in essence automated blunderbusses as weapons? That is as far as our weapons technology will advance by 2550? I hope not! At the very least 343 should incorporate mini rail gun technology into the pistols and rifles, so the promethans can be summarily dealt with!!
I could go on and on, but I would like to see some game-play and weapons upgrades to make the game enjoyable, instead of frustrating!! I still prefer ‘Reach’ and especially ODST because of the fact that there was a off-line version of firefight with NO lag, or disconnects!!
