I have been having problems with The leg and connectivity in Halo 5 guardians my question is is there any hope for an update to fix some of the connectivity problems people are having and is there anyone else having these problems
When I play Halo 5, I rarely see lag, and I very rarely get disconnected (I’ve been disconnected once since launch). There are things that can contribute to lag: if you are matched with people far away from your region (like playing from the EU with Americans), then you are likely to see some lag. Here are some things you can investigate about your connection to see if there are any areas where you can improve it:
Current ISP (is your ISP the only one in your area? Is it known to have issues connecting to Halo 5 servers?)
Up/down speeds (what your ISP says it should be and what speedtest says it actually is)
Ping & Packet loss (measure here, and note that you’ll need to update Flash Player and Java, and don’t use Chrome)
Latency with Microsoft Azure servers (probably where the Halo 5 servers are; you can check here, and you can also test up/down speeds to the Azure servers if you want)
The reason I feel like it’s halo servers is because I can play any other game and this never happens it only happens on Halo five so yes it’s partially to do with my bad Internet which isn’t actually that bad I have like a 20 MBPS download speed when I’m downloading games so it’s just their servers aren’t as good as other games and it is something they could fix I would be sending 343i an email asking them about this but there’s too stupid to get one
Just because you can play one game without problems connecting doesn’t mean every game will be perfect. This is why I suggested many avenues of investigation for your connection. It’s not only about download speeds. Every ISP is different, and every game connection is different. There are many variables that can cause problems, and problems can occur anywhere between your console to the game’s servers. It’s easy to blame the game servers but in truth that is least likely to be the source of the issue because not everyone is experiencing the problems you are; a problem with Halo 5 servers directly would affect essentially every player. I’m not saying Halo 5’s servers are perfect, because they aren’t; I’m just saying that it’s less likely that the entire servers are acting up and more likely that they just don’t like something about your specific connection. And it isn’t something they can “fix”, because a change that helps you could end up causing problems for hundreds of others. So since you went ahead and described your download speeds, I’ll ask you again to use the tools I suggested and look into all that other information: who is your ISP, what are your actual down/up speeds, what is your ping and packet loss, and what is your latency with Microsoft servers.
OK thank you for your help I will check to see if there’s something I can do but if not I guess I’ll have to talk to my Internet provider. Again thank you for your help
