Here is my feedback.
I played the previous flights and I was eager to see the full release, mainly because I wanted to see the full progression system and the service record implementation. Now it is absolutely clear for me that what we have today is a half baked multiplayer game. Hear me out.
The progression system is broken at best, you play matches and there is no real motivation to finish a match other than completing the challenges for doing so. You don’t earn XP per played match, it doesn’t even matter if you get kills, you can even be AFK the entire match and you can still complete one of these challenges.
The only way to unlock the cosmetics is through playing challenges which by the way can prevent you from having fun, say you hate snipers, well there are about 3 sniper rifle challenges that you have to skip, if you have tokens you are in luck, if not get ready to spend some cash. The same cash you can spend to level up the battle pass, so it really makes no sense to spend credits on challenge skips, just spend those same credits on leveling up the BP.
Say you are in a match and you need to kill someone from behind to complete the challenge. You can do it on the first 60 seconds of the match, quit the game and you have the challenge complete. That will just leave people playing with bots in matches and not having a good time.
Also we have 160 days to complete this to get our rewards. But I thought the battle pass did not expire? Please explain this 343.
The reality is: we want to have fun, and have a true sense of progression. Other games are doing it flawlessly. It feels great to complete a match and see how good you are, or even get comparisons on how you are improving “personal best K/D” these kind of things. If I have to grind stupid challenges using guns I don’t like or items I never use that just leads to frustration and the player count will drop significantly on a matter of weeks.
We have 100 points per kill and 50 points per assist, but what is the real motivation to be first? there is no MVP concept it really does not matter how you play, the only thing that matters is the challenges they place.
