From what we have seen, we only have a few brand new weapons in Halo 5.
The Hydra
Plasma Caster
Splinter Turret
SMG(not new but returning)
(am I missing any?)
Some weapons have had design and minor functionality changes.
Do you think 343i has kept new weapons from being seen, or so you think there is simply not many new weapons?
Thoughts?
I’m just happy to get my rail gun back.
Also it kind makes sense to take what the series has and just improve upon them, especially since there will be different versions of just about every weapon via REQ’s.
Anyway, we’ll have like a hundred of weapon variants in Warzone… It’s not that bad.
Halo 5 has the most weapons of any Halo game. There have been so many over the years, it’s probably hard to cram many new ones in there without replacing some (like the Plasma Rifle, Plasma Repeater, Grenade launcher, and Needle Rifle … and to be honest, I wasn’t a fan of those Reach weapons … I do miss the Plasma Rifle, though).
Maybe there’s a new one they’ve yet to reveal, but at this point with all this game play we’ve gotten (especially Warzone and seeing the REQ system) I kinda doubt it.
I dont have any problem with few new weapons. Even though is the Halo with more weapons than any before. And yes the variants are a good addition.
Gradually getting more and more concerned about the state of the grav hammer. Still no sign of it at all.

Most likely no Brutes again, but that doesn’t stop the Gravity Hammer from appearing in Halo 4’s Campaign.
Still waiting for a beam like weapon 343, I mean we are talking Forerunners.

I do not like the rocket launcher that is the only weapon that bothers me their appearance, or to you by little more altiguo not like I’m the only model:c
For me, yes, there is a great lack of weapons. I was hoping to see some new Covenant or Promethean Weapons. Plasma Caster is just a replacement of Concussion Rifle. Also we dont know nothing about the sticky detonator or any UNSC Grenade Launcher
Perhaps there are more variants of existing weapons, in dare I say it a COD kind of way?
Im cool with the weapons that there are already/new ones we have seen. I guess they probably don’t just want to go and make a new gun just for the sake of making a new gun after all they have to balance the matchmaking/gameplay.
I wish they would bring back the focus rifle, needle rifle, grenade launcher, sticky detonator, and all of the brute weapons including the brute plasma rifle. Also bring back all vehicles like the chopper and revenant and elephant.
After E3 and gamescom they said something like: “There are some new power weapons that we haven’t revealed/shown yet.”
So unless they weren’t talking about the binary rifle, scattershot, railgun or incineration canon which weren’t shown by the time of that post (wouldn’t make sense because they aren’t really NEW power weapons), there’s something we haven’t seen yet.

To be fair, we haven’t even played or seen most of the campaign. We obtained weapons such as the Prophet’s Bane, who knows that we won’t see more weapons like that?
Hopefully they are keeping some stuff secret. All of this hype is nice but I like to be surprised too.
We’ll have to wait and see I guess.
I’m really not for the inclusion of weapons just for the sake of having numbers… If there isn’t a significant difference and use case between weapons, then why bother. We already have a few weapons that are essentially copies of each other, but with w different skin…
i do like 343i’s new weapons appear to have vastly different functionality that previously existing ones.
Weapon proliferation is bad. Keep it simple. No new weapons, please. Matter of fact, I wish they’d take back a few of the old ones.
Well Halo 4 did expand the weapon sand box by almost doubling it, but then again I want all the previous weapons and vehicles in the game. Grenade launcher, needle rifle, plasma launcher, falcon, etc…
