Where’s the firefight? What about grifball? Infection? Forge…? Anything? The Halo multiplayer experience has continued to get more and more simplistic, and not for the better. My friends and I didn’t stay up all night playing normal old slayer or rumble. We goofed around in forge, laughed our -Yoinks!- off playing grifball and infection. We accomplished amazing feats in firefight and survived the impossible. THAT, is the Halo multiplayer experience. I’m not devaluing tradition. The original gamemodes should still stick around, but come on guys. You CANNOT tell me Microsoft can’t afford the server capacity for those FEW extra gamemodes. It isn’t about popularity with certain modes, it’s about your fan base. No Spartan left behind. A good fraction of people played Halo solely for the firefight or map building. You can’t tell me you intend to just leave them out, “deal with it.” Reach was a step in the right direction for the multiplayer experience. Everyone loved it. So much in fact that a lot of people are still loyal to Reach and would say the new games “aren’t the same.” I agree whole-heartedly. While Warzone is great, it’s nothing like firefight or control. Halo 4’s control was incredible (at least, while it was active). You could set up base turrets, ammo would spawn. There were vantage points, no shortage of cover. I’ve been a strong Halo fan since 3 (mostly just due to age), but I can safely say that I speak for most of the community when I say that we want those gamemodes. It’s nostalgia… It’s memories like that, that keep me a Halo fan.
Do your fans a favor. You know what to do.
Edit: Did I forget to mention capture the flag? Yeah, don’t even TRY to tell me that one wasn’t a hit OR that it’s copyrighted by Bungie. It’s a gamemode.
