Lack of death of main characters in Halo 5?

I mean, Chief aside, shouldn’t some other Spartan’s be dying (EX: Palmer), or Lasky and others? I know H6 will bring a lot of death from the looks of it, but I was surprised that ALL 8 Spartans survived the whole game, and idk? I just feel the older games killed off so many important characters like Johnson, Keyes, Miranda, etc. What do you guys think?

Id be fine with them killing off some of these boring characters lol just leave chief, arby, and buck alone

id be OK if they killed off some of these useless AI teammates. I wasted like 10 on/off minutes being driven into a wall as a warthog gunner yesterday.

Isn’t Jul M’dama technically a main character? He had an important role in SpOps and the comics that I don’t read, and then Halo 5 just killed him off. And I mean, one could say that Cortana is now dead, because she is no longer acting as Cortana should (and because of the whole, you know, dying thing in Halo 4 and then being resurrected, cheapening her character).

I wouldn’t mind if Locke, Tanaka, Palmer, Cortana, and Thorne all died.

Johnson and Miranda died in Halo 3, the supposed end of the series.
Keyes died in Halo CE because we needed to see what the Flood was capable of and they didnt know if there as going to be a sequel.
If anyoen going to die (and I doubt they are since, you know, this isnt the Covenant War anymore, its UNSC smashing time), its going to be in 6.

Well, Cortana died in Halo 4, remember. She was a pretty main character, and her death had meaning and was an emotional blow to not only chief but Halo fans across the world. It really was a great ending to that game.

And it was negated and made pointless by Halo 5.

Oh yeah, that’s right. There was some great potential to where that story was going, but then someone decided to wad it up and use it as emergency toilet paper. Then the drain clogged and it’s now just sitting there stinking up the place.

Killing off characters just for the sake of killing off characters is bad writing, and it means nothing if you’re killing off ones who were never built up to begin with.

It wouldn’t be if it was Palmer.

They should kill all of the Meridian station. The development there was so strong you guys, and it would shock literally every single player. Maybe do something out of nowhere and new, like have the Covenant glass it or something.

Haha obvious sarcasm is obvious.

Hopefully with any luck, we’ll get to kick Governor Sloan’s -Yoink-!!!

I completely forgot about Meridian Station. I cri wen dey di

With Halo 6, there’s too many characters that have a probability of dying. Honestly, I’m scared.

The problem with deaths in Halo was I always thought they were a bit too frequent. I mean I didn’t think Johnson AND Miranda should have died in such a short space of time, I always like to think that the Sentinels healed Johnson, because he was helping the reclaimer they teleported him to some advanced Forerunner medical station somewhere on another Halo ring and patched him up. Jumping the shark a bit but not by too much. I think that’s part of the reason “Halo no longer feels like Halo” is because there’s no original supporting characters anymore. And what happened to Lord Hood? Why was he replaced with Palmer? He was one of my favourite characters.

Halo 2 didn’t kill anyone and this felt like 343 doing its own Halo 2esque game. I get the main point though. Every other Halo game has a main character die.

Prophet of Regret, Prophet of Mercy, Tartarus; They were main characters in the story of Halo 2.

Lord Hood is still around, if you read the comics, he makes a couple appearances. They actually give a little backstory about him and Captain Cutter. He just is so far up the military ladder, that no one in these games really interacts with him anymore. I doubt fire team osiris has ever met him, save maybe Vale or Tanaka (Whoever was in Hunters in the Dark). Palmer is the commanding officer of the Spartan IV’s. So she interacts with them much more
