Back in MCC the style I used was more or less based around these two weapons, and the occasional power weapon, but every time I seem to seek these weapons I find the Commando and Heatwave instead. They should NOT share spawns as they function very differently (I’m playing KBM btw). Just tried two games of FFA and both times I got Bazaar with Heatwave and Commandos, so it feels like my play style has been neutered. Why is there only ever at most 1 close range weapon spawn on a map? I remember the Pit was one of the most beloved maps and it had THREE power weapons and THREE close range weapon spawns, not including the other weapons such as the mauler and needler. Why do the maps in Infinite have to be so stingy when it comes to weapon variety on 4v4 maps?
I suspect because these maps are not balanced for FFA at all. They are balanced for competitive.

We desperately need maps with more weapon spawns and more power positions. It’s what makes an Arena shooter an Arena shooter. The Arena itself providing the advantage, provided you are skilled enough to retain said advantage.

I disagree. I think the variety for social games is better. They do this in Gears of War and it changes things up match to match. I don’t think 343 should be catering to players who are only comfortable with a specific playstyle or particular weapons.
Especially these Unranked social playlists.
I agree, they should at least buff the commando a bit (reducing bloom or slightly incraseing the rate of fire or turning it back to 7 shot-kill)
