Dear 343i,
we know you are very buisy. We know that because all of us have spent a bunch of money to buy those products you sell. These products don’t work. 10 Years ago, when you (as a developer) would present a game in its BETA-State to someone, you would have stated that “this is work in progress, don’t take this to serious… the final game will be much more stable etc.” - nowadays you have no scruples to release such a game.
Okay, I can handle that. I would never do it this way, especially if I intended to keep a community calm and happy… but that’s just 343i’s new style of releasing games. OKAY!
What I don’t understand is: Why don’t you fix this TOTALLY BROKEN AND UNFINISHED GAME before you make Halo 5 the highest priority. Every Halo-Fan would agree that we could wait a few more months longer for H5, if you instead would fix Halo MCC. Why don’t you fix it? Why don’t you work on fixing these problems with PRIORITY A?
What I can’t handle - I really can’t believe this is happening - is that you just DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH US. How can it be that there are only a few postings and press releases about the ongoing problems? What’s the current state? I have no idea. What’s on your list? What’s not? Why don’t you have a team of 20 People that just collect bugs, communicate with players and UPDATE US DAILY on what is going on?
I PAY YOUR JOBS BY PURCHASING YOUR PRODUCTS, but you’ve sold me a bunch of crap that is not working and you have a service that is upon the worst I’ve ever seen. There’s just NO communication at all. A few rare appologizes and some informations about “fixed some stuff here and there”… but I never read anything about campaign playlists and so on. I don’t know what will be fixed soon and what you haven’t even heard. If you go to these forums over here and ask 343i - you don’t get answers. No one communicates with us. Twitter? Come on… as useful as a headache.
People are waiting for news about your bug fixes EACH DAY - and you just don’t communicate anything. When was the last blog post about bug fixes? How many of them have been around? I can count them with one hand… this is just making me mad and I’ve been a loyal fan for far more than a decade now. But enough is enough.
People will rise against this disrespectful behaviour… and you’ll see by the time Halo 5 will launch (and Halo MCC still won’t be fixed overall).
DISGUSTING!
I agree. Communication has been abysmal. Has our “Community Manager” talked about anything besides hardcore competitive play? No. Do we have any idea or confidence that all or even most of the issues will ever be fixed? No. Will I buy Halo 5 if they don’t fix this game (soon…)? No.
Yeah, compared to other companies the communication is abysmal, even if they have nothing new to report. Xbox live was down for at least 5 hours this past wednesday and they posted every half hour on the status of the issue. WHY U NO DO DIS 343
I was super happy with the halo 5 beta. It was super fun and by far my favorite halo yet, but I’m literally gonna sell off my xbox one and boycott Microsoft. i’m sick of this greed.
The whole reason why they hushed up was because of people sending them death threats. They where doing a relatively good job before this issue IMO.
I don’t want to talk about the quality of their products right now… (which I actually think is far beyond from what impact Bungies work had on the industry… Almost every positive aspect of the MCC is based on Bungies awesome contributions back then… almost everything that sucks comes from something 343i brought into the series).
I’m really angry about this whole situation right now. Master Fail Collection still isn’t running proper and you just don’t get any feedback from 343industries about what’s going on right now. Imagine your mobile phone or car has to be repaired because it’s broken (let’s say it was broken when you bought it) and you keep waiting and waiting and no one tells you what exactly is broken and when your phone/car will be repaired. When you call them, no one answers the phone. When you send letters, no one answers them either. And soon you realize that you’ve just been fooled by that company… maybe all the bugs in the Master Fail Collection will be fixed one day… but this feeling of beeing fooled by 343i will stay forever-.- By the way I think 343i does it on purpose: They don’t want us to know what all the bugs are - because of their enormous number. MCC didn’t feel like it was finished when it was released, it didn’t even feel like it was Beta… it felt like an early Alpha of the game.
And speaking of this awesoooooome newww PROOO community manager… wow, -Yoink- that, I prefer someone who is not that pro over someone who is pro but just has no eyes for anythink else but pro competitive play. He could not even influence 343 on NOT killing the Halo series’ Multiplayer like it is happening right now with the development of Halo 5… Whatever.
Actually, they have been communicating about things going on. There is a thread that gets updated about it.
Also, making posts DAILY about what is going on takes out time that goes into the troubleshooting, it hampers progress when you stop frequently. Secondly with that, they won’t have new info everyday to make into a post, troubleshooting takes time, especially when it is related to software coding.

not true, 343 have non-technical staff that could be updating us which would not take away from bug-fixing. Doesn’t take more than a few minutes for technical staff to brief the non-technical people on where they’re at.
If you guys want behavior like 343’s to change. cancel your pre-orders. It doesn’t even matter if you end up buying Halo 5 day one. Just cancel your pre-order. Preorder perks are junk anyway, everyone knows this.
Preordering = bad for the industry. Stop sending the message that you will buy their product regardless of what state it’s in.

Do you honestly believe they take online death threats seriously?
And to counter your argument, being silent would piss off the person who did the threatening even more… That’s not the reason, they’re just a terrible company… And where being led around.

From a troubleshooting technician standpoint, it can take just as long if not longer to brief someone to brief people, especially if they are not a tech. I have wasted time trying to explain what I am doing, why i am doing it, what I hope it does; which could have gone into solving the issue instead. I have lost more time when they eventually come back and go, “wait…, what?”
Yeah, it’s annoying, but they probably simply have nothing to report new, so why keep commenting? People would just complain about that then. I can see why they would only post when they have something new to say. Plus, patching games isn’t as super easy as everybody thinks. Yes, it can be when there is very little to patch, small glitches, etc…but we’re talking about rewriting the whole matchmaking/party system. A game they put together in probably over a year people are asking to magically fix in two months.
How do you not know the “current state” of the game either? I’m not defending 343, but they have clearly said that the Xbox Live Preview members (which I am) are supposed to test a new patch that completely rewrites the multiplayer/party system. That patch was supposed to be tested last weekend, but got delayed because it was obviously broken in some way. They communicate to Xbox Live Preview members through their Xbox Preview Dashboard App when they have something new to say now. They probably won’t talk much to the actual community until after this new patch is rolled out to us, then they get feedback/see if it works, etc.
In other words, you’re probably not going to get the patch we’re going to be testing for a good 2-4 weeks anyway, so there is nothing for them to communicate right now to regular Master Chief people that aren’t part of the preview program that they haven’t said already. =/
EDIT: They also have this thread: https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/85d779d52cfd46918b4f8b638f2e3c7b/topics/the-master-chief-collection-bug-investigation/e024f78f-6022-4a49-99ea-67562ec5b4ca/posts
…that they have been updating twice a week about, so it’s not like they aren’t talking. They didn’t for a while over Christmas, but they have been pretty consistently updating it. I check that thread once or twice a day.

none of which applies here. We’re not talking about explaining intricate details. We’re just talking about communicating what they’re working on at a higher level.
Developer 1 is trying to fix issue A, B, and C
Developer 2 is trying to fix issue D, E, and F
etc, etc.
DONE! Easy peasy. minimal effort, high reward in PR. The perception that 343 is giving the players of the MCC the middle finger is gaining more and more momentum and you really shouldn’t be apologizing for 343, you should be holding them accountable for a massively botched release. Or are you a paid shill for 343?

Thats exactly the point. No one needs an analysis of a bug, “fixed that you could not select campaign playlist missions” would be more than enough! That does not need more than a few seconds and as a consumer I would be happy to know that this issue has finally been fixed.
By the way… seen that new Update from Bravo? Again: NO DETAILS ABOUT BUGS, NO DETAILS ABOUT THEIR FIXING STATUS. Informations about Matchmaking Playlist Updates? A BUNCH OF. What the heck? Didn’t 343i recognize there a lot people buying their game who are in love with Halo because of the campaigns instead of a damn Team Hardcore Playlist, where a weapon spawn has changed… come on, seriously?! They say (Quote:) “Fundamental changes to these systems will improve the overall experience while also allowing us to address additional issues such as title-specific hit registration, matchmaking ranking, and beyond. As this update contains the biggest changes to the Matchmaking system yet, we’ve…” → WHAT ARE THOSE CHANGES? They are the biggest ever for 343? Then why don’t give us details!?
