Lack of color blind friendly options kills my ability to play

I’m color blind and as the game is now it’s near unplayable. I’ll come around a corner to see 2 Spartans within melee range of each other. Both are red, except one of them has a thin faint red outline. I can’t see red. Which one do I shoot?

I don’t have the time to let them separate and unzoom my weapon to see which one has a friendly nametag above them. When it’s 49-49 my color blindness costs us the match.

Without a better way to differentiate teams, like red vs blue, I will never be able to play as competitively as I used to. If encounters begins with a moment to identify friend or foe when others don’t have to, I’m already half dead.

You can change the outline color in settings. This was added just for the colorblind…

There are a bunch of accessibility settings in the accessibility tab for all types of disabilities. Being able to customize outline colors for team, fireteam, enemy, spectator, and spectator 2, are in there, with various shades of multiple colors of the rainbow.

ITT: People who are not colorblind believing the lies 343 told us about the outline system being there to help colorblind players. It doesn’t help colorblind players, there’s less color to see. Also I’ve been accused of being colorblind due to not liking the outline system. People are really ableist and clueless.

I’m no expert on colorblindness, that’s for sure, but I’d at least recommend setting the enemy to a color you can see, and setting your team to a color you can’t see, so you will naturally be more likely to ignore your own team color and search for the enemy team color that stands out, like Pineapple for example is a very bright yellow that should stand out, if you set your own team to be a dark blue. Rather than try to differentiate purely by colors, use outline brightness as well.
