Lack of autofill ruins this game

Before going any further, this is 100% me venting some frustration, so I’m by no means unaware of definite aggravation tinting my viewpoint, but perhaps raising the point can lead to some actual discussion as to why this is the way it is. Since I’ve bought Halo 5 a couple months ago I’ve had a consistent problem bogging down multiplayer for me, as much of a rush as it can be when it’s at it’s best. That problem? Players quit within SECONDS of a match…ALL the time. And they do it flabbergastingly frequently. It is very very VERY frustrating. Soon thereafter, a player will notice a man has left, and unwilling to have his K/D besmirched by an unfair lopsided match, will also quit. Suddenly, I find myself in a 2 on 4 match. Joy. I can take a loss. I always see an opportunity for improvement and the acquisition of new knowledge in a loss. It’s a learning experience. But not when it’s because you’re fighting two men down and a game refuses to replace the quitters with fresh players. I felt the need to ask around about this as tonight, in a 2 hour multiplayer session, I’ve had players quit SIX times. Six times in TWO hours. That’s six games in a 2 hour period that I fought a man, sometimes two, down. I’ve heard the argument that this is to prevent you joining a losing match and having it go on record.

Having played multiplayer games that explicitly tell you upon joining a losing battle that it won’t reflect on your record, I hardly see this as a salient and worthwhile argument. It’s sad to say, but this is seriously injuring my enjoyment of multiplayer. I work two jobs, I don’t have the time to go all MLG and form a dedicated clan of players I play with consistently, as I see that being a potential answer to my problem. Matchmaking exists for a reason. It’s beneficial to people like myself. It’s sad, but I don’t see myself playing Halo 5 for much longer because of this. The aggravation just isn’t worth it.

Hmm this does not happen to me often.

Man, I’d love to have your luck then. Played three games today right before heading to work, first one of the three one player leaves within the first minute. It’s awful. Such an easy fix, too.
