Lack of announcer and medals are now meaningless?

I play a lot of Halo 5. I have a sort of love/hate relationship with it. It does so much right yet it does have its fair share of problems. Since day 1, Halo 5 has always had a strange feeling to it. It really does lack that classic Halo feel but hear me out.

After playing lots of Reach recently it has really made me realise how much of a back seat the classic announcer takes in Halo 5. For example, a lot of the things are called out by generic Spartans in place of the announcer such as flags being taken. Plus Warzone not having an announcer for medals has always irritated me but I never see it brought up. Palmer seems to be the announcer for that game mode but it would still be nice to have some announcement for medals whether it be Palmer or the classic announcer. It just really takes away from the overall experience, booting up older Halo games and hearing that iconic voice is fantastic and makes achieving certain feats feel great.

In addition to the announcer taking a back seat in Halo 5 medals also seem so meaningless. We have no way of viewing them like we could in previous games in our post game carnage report. It really, really annoys me having so many fun and new medals and either not knowing what they are or how many you got each game. Having to come on waypoint to look certainly isn’t an answer either. Having no way of viewing medals post game really dampens the achievement and bragging rights of actually getting them. What purpose do I have to be a dedicated Warthog driver when I have nothing to show for it post game?

I’ve been thinking about both of these issue lately. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a thread about the lack of the announcer in this game but I’ve seen my fair share of threads relating to the lack of medal viewing which I hope is added in soon.

I agree. Use to love seeing those medals during intermission.

Second. It’s annoying just to hear Palmer blurt out her lines in a mode that’s tailor made for Announcer awesomeness…

Man, I miss classic Jeff so much. I still don’t get why 343 thinks this digitized version of him, and other announcers are a good thing. I also noticed this after playing a good lot if Reach recently.

Definitely need to be able to view medals in post game carnage report as well as killed most, killed most by and tool of destruction. Those others aren’t as important to me, but medals have always been fun to look at post game.

100% support, we need post game medals back!

Announcer for warzone would be cool. But more importantly, being able to view your medals (and everyone else’s) after a game is a must. Why award them in game and then not even let you view them? This is a necessary feature that needs to be added.

Also, does the game only show 3 medals at a time? Sometimes you do something super awesome and you want to take a screenshot to remember it, but it only shows 3 medals at a time which is disappointing sometimes.

I stopped reading at the love-hate relationship thing. I don’t know why, maybe its because this analogy has been used to death and seems over the top for a video game.

Yeah Im not sure why that happens. I went on a frenzy, perfect, buckle up, double kill, last shot, died, then got a from the grave and it went through all the medals and actually delayed my spawn until they were all announced…kind of funny but kind of annoying at the same time.

I really miss the announcer. His voice is so dramatic too. He’s like, “Double Kill. Triple Kill. Overkill. Killtacular.” I hate having to listen to random Spartans yell out random stuff and I especially hate listening to Palmer say, “We’re not out of this yet. We can still win if we destroy the enemy core.” Bring back the old announcer!
