Lack of aim assist in Infinite

I think the reason why full squad is available in the cross input playlist is to allow for friends across different platforms/inputs to play in a competitive playlist together.

It means that the input locked playlists (solo/duo) ends up arguably being the pinnacle ‘competitive’ playlist as theres no chance of full 4-stacks VS 4 randoms and the input disparity isn’t a factor either. That being said it, it does mean a drawback of 4-stack controller players having to accept they may be playing against MKB players.

What frustrated me is getting nailed by the Sidekick from across the map.

Aim assist is broken and unfair on MCC, I only play controller on MCC. Aim assist is sure very low now but the aim is better than in the flights. As a player of both world I find it kind of balanced. Everyone complaining is just the consequence of having straight aimbot in Halo 5 and never learning how to aim.

I been playing it was hard to get use to it but it feels better than the play testing

Aim assist is overtuned as hell and you can’t even que for input based if you have more than two in your party.

I found that lowering the deadzones, and then increasing acceleration to 5 and setting sensitivity to your preference, seems to help a lot. I went from bottom of the boards to mid-top from that alone since it’s much easier to aim now.

You’re not crazy. It’s one of the first things I noticed. Feels really weird. It’s also been out less than a day, so who knows what changes could happen?

I’m glad the OP and others have posted about this. I know I’m not a world-beater at FPS games, but I’ve never struggled like this before.

I guess I also need to pay attention to who I’m playing against. As a console/controller player, I never really considered the ramifications of playing against mouse/keyboard players.

Well there’s def something going on with the aiming. Last game I had I was pretty sure I was getting the shots and yet somehow K/M were getting same amount of shots later on and somehow killing me 1st. which makes no sense I don’t remember the previous flight being this bad.

I prefer this level of aim assist on controller and I would kept it at flight settings.

Yesterday my Commando aim moved a little bit without me making the move and I started to think whether there was too much aim assist in the game.

One of the worse feeling Halo game I’ve played on a console with a controller,
The total lack of any aim assist puts you at a total disadvantage when forced to play against keyboard and mouse users.

There’s not even the option to turn off crossplay…

It should be like Halo MCC and have aim assist for controllers and none for mouse and keyboard

No offense but the hit detection in Halo 5 is garbage. I don’t agree with the bullet magnetism statement unless you are talking players who are just really good or those who use the auto aim hack.

I totally agree needing to learn the new system in Infinite but between the last flight and what I played last night something is off. Now we were having lag/frame rate issues so I know that didn’t help but still it just felt off.

It’s the casuals seeking instant gratification.

Saying the “casuals” as youre service record screams casual is pretty funny. The aim on controller feels terrible and its not just down to aim assist, its feels janky AF and needs fixed.

Because I am a casual, I didn’t say I wasn’t. I’m just calling it how it is. Nice try though

…and looking up my service record? lol

I love how your argument is rooted in subjective terms to drive an objective point. Hmm…

Yes i agree. It really feels sometimes inconsistent in general. From time to time it happens, that the crosshair bounces too far away just from a microajdusment.

Here a helpful thing, because the settings for all the different Sensetivities, Deadzones and Treshold is really complex: youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=U_Rp39R6jsg (not allowed to post links, replace the DOT with a .)

I watched it last flight two times and today one more time and NOW i get it. It helped me a bit to have better settings, but i must play more to check if it really helped in long term

With the settings you can get a better feeling for the aim, but it still feels inconsistent and somehow “buggy”.

Can’t agree with you more on this. I think a lot of people are used to the “classic” aiming mechanism, what we have seen from most prior halo games with just look sensitivity. I think this is the first halo out of the box to use the “modern” aiming mechanism, MCC i think had it in an update. I do think this can chuck a lot of people for a loop, especially if a person comes from the days of only having to change look sensitivity and in the best case, being able to change it both vertical and horizontal. I can agree on maxing out aim acceleration, i have set my deadzones to zero. I still have to play around with the deadzones to see what the differences are between zero and 15 when having set aim accel to max.

Coming from you who seems to be on keyboard and mouse seems to forget that mnk uses their WHOLE ARM TO AIM which is way better and more precise than controllers who have to use their THUMB ON A JOYSTICK to aim.

Clearly somehwere in your mind it seems thumbs with aim assist is better than the precision of one’s arm. Aim assist is not broken or op as ur making it seem to be neither is it like anywhere close to AiMbOt.

Aim assist has its pros and cons too especially with magnetism if another enemy walks in front of who ur shooting it can drag your reticle off that person while on mnk that doesn’t happen and you can keep shooting your target.

And you said controllers not having aim assist helps the pros shine then if they need that and you need that then you need to get better against our aim assist bc its not that op.

I also hope you realize in infinite you have aim assist too on mnk which is something you guys shouldn’t have, the list of disadvantages against controllers keeps adding up.
