This is good insight on 343’s absence in showing Halo at E3… good resource and time management on their part, not to get too sidetracked in putting together a public showing too early. Every bit of time and money is critical in the development of anything and I commend 343 for their decision here, and their sensiblility in listening to the right voices in the community.
“Take your time… Do it right, even if it breaks tradition.” Good on you 343, hopefully this is them turning a new leaf.
H5 is good, but could obviously have been a lot better, with more original and inspired content and I hope they utilize this extra time to bring the design philosophy and structure back from the Halo games of old… the UI, the map pool structure and content variety (still with heavy focus on Arena, as well as large scale game modes) and all the classic game modes, with fine tuned maps designed to support a number of modes simultaneously, like the past. Get the story and encounter design right… take the time necessary.
Build the game as a Halo game would be built. Do the series its due justice.
