So many times i played the MCC and was booted from a BTB game while playing with a friend. this would cause my teammate to quit to be able join back up, or the one booted would more often than not just have to wait until they finished the game. but finally in halo 5 343 realized to make join in progress possible. This is huge and i must give some kudos for this.
The first time it happened in a btb match for me we came back to win it once i came back from getting disconnected and then reconnected. i was ecstatic. I’ve also been able to join a few games with friends when they were already started and i joined late. this doesnt usually work but when it does i am very happy about it. i hope 343 continues to support and improve this feature.
my only suggestion is that if you are disconnected due to network problems in an arena match (4v4) there should also be a join in progress in that situation. if you could get your player back it would change all those games where the team with a man disadvantage always looses. it would be nice it join in progress wasn’t just for BTB and warzone.
Actually i hate the join in progress, i didn’t know that was possible till yesterdat when i played and i joined an in progress game only to get spawn killed three times and the game ends. Worse thing ever!

i can relate to you on that one. its terrible when you get put into a loosing game like that. it is the main disadvantage to the join in progress.
i just find it can really make up for the booting/disconnecting that often happens for seemingly no reason. I’ve been disconnected from a match, and then able to join back in and continue playing (with the same amount of kills even). in this kind of situation i think its great. it makes up for having to get put into a few loosing matches here or there to try and help out. i always like a comeback, and have been part of some comebacks after joining a match in progress. if you’re the other person on the team who just lost a teammate and are loosing because of it you would be relieved to get some more support right?
Joining in progress should be an option not mandatory
JIP is a waste since most of the games I’ve joined is always on the losing team.
