Kraken Walker

So now we finally know the name of this beast, and we’ve seen gameplay of Osiris taking it down. After seeing it, I was left thinking “That was pretty easy, was that really all we had to do?”

What do you guys think, was the Kraken too easy to kill?

I’m hoping they up the number of enemies in higher difficulties. Seems like no one bothered playing on Heroic or higher.

As far as I am aware, the media groups who played Halo 5 could only play on normal if they wanted to get as much video time as possible.

My problem was probably the lack of enemies on the actual thing, there were like 2 elites. All they need to do to fix this is to add maybe an elite squad, and/or hunters to guard the core.

I thought this. All it had for protection was shade turrets. Im hoping its got a main weapon like the scarabs turret or something. They could also make the inside really cramp and have stealth elites ambush you.

Yeah the whole thing was pretty lame, compare this to the scarab in halo 2. It way less space inside but despite that was much more heavily defended.

This is a great idea actually, only problem is that you pretty much need an air vehicle to take one down (it seems like), which are restricted in Warzone, your team can only spawn so many

I’m disappointed to see that the Kraken plays like the Halo 2 scarab instead of the Halo 3 Scarab, where it follows a path until it inevitably corners itself.

We didn’t see the entire sequence for the Kraken play, could be more to it. Also normal difficulty, the video has been skipping to parts so let’s withhold our judgement for now.

Kraken looks like more of some mining vehicle, than something built for combat. Maybe it is trying to surface the Guardians…

Agreed!
It’s prettty much the same as the Halo 2 Scarab just with less enemies on it.

I just hope that there will be a segment where we will have to fight a Scarab and/or Harvester.

I’m not sure if we watched the same video, but I watched RUL do it, and it jump cuts to shooting the generator.
There might have been plenty of action that was skipped to compensate for the time limit.

I watched his as well, but there is one out there that has the full takedown of the Kraken. It was pretty underwhelming, but that might just because we were watching it and not actually playing it, who knows? Guess we’ll just have to wait 32 more days to find out.

One thing I’ve noticed now I’ve seen it in action is that it’s not really a walker, it floats around, I think the legs are more huge weapons. Also I really don’t t think it’s a mining vessel. Looks way more like a mobile command centre.

I think it looked easy because they were playing it on a lower difficulty, i expect it to be alot harder to kill on heroic or legendary(obviously)

well you have to avoid a lot of shades, land on it and then fight your way down 3-4 stories of mobile base. I imagine it will be quite difficult on higher difficulties.

Pretty sure that if you play co-op campaign, your difficulty raises to account for more human players. Also, a lot of the people who were recording gameplay played the game on Normal so that they could get through the missions as easily as possible to get the most amount of footage.

MOARRRRRR ENEMIEEESSSSSS!!!
