EDIT:THIS THREAD IS NOW CLOSED. Guess politics on Waypoint isn’t a good idea.
The Koslovics were supporters of the neo-communist hardliner Vladimir Koslov in the 22nd century. They sought a return to the glory days of communism and the elimination of corporate and capitalist influence, particularly in orbital facilities and offworld colonies throughout the Sol system. This culminated in the Interplanetary War, which resulted in the faction’s eventual defeat by the newly-formed United Nations Space Command.
Halo Timeline
I’m very interested in these guys. Is there any other available data?
P.S. Such a pity they were crushed by the UN, could’ve produced some great ideological stuff in the years to come.

Yay, the first anti-leftist to criticize my views.
Why are you so shocked? Both Marx and Lenin were great theoreticians. Koslov would’ve written some beautiful works on communist theory if wasn’t forced to step down. Why’d they even fight Frieden at all? All in all, that aspect of the Halo universe deserves more attention IMO.
I don’t have a problem with communism as a theory, on paper it sounds wonderful. But history has shown that it hasn’t work out, inevitably it breaks down due to corruption. Besides, there was more to the Koslovics, they resorted to violence to achieve their goals. The same thing happened with a countergroup known as the Frieden movement, which was on the right and fascist.
The UN took them both down because at their core, they were little more than terrorists. Feel free to call me what you want, but that’s how I see it.
Fair point. Sorry if I offended you mate, just too many people oppose the left at my place. You voice your views and get called a “darn commie” or worse.
I guess it’ll be way further than 26th century before theory could become practice. What looks good on paper could be brought to life only by non-authoritarian and democratic means. Until then, I’m with the UNSC.

People trying to impose their personal ideological politic system with violence, instead of democracy. These people you would support?
Please remember communism is an extremism, and every single extremism (from left or right) is bad, negative and wrong. Being against an extremism doesn’t mean being against left or right. You saying somebody who criticizes an extremism is anti-leftist is ridiculous, a wise citizen with leftist ideas is the first to understand the negativity of the extreme left.
Honestly, Communism isn’t even decent on paper. Marx absolutely wasn’t a great theoretician, he’s only great to people who refuse to study history, economic patterns or basically any part of the world’s history that doesn’t already fit into their prescribed view of the “worker’s paradise.”
Honestly, Marx view of communism is equivalent to what 8-10 year olds come up with nowadays, because their simply is no real depth to it.
I also think Lenin had it wrong, but at least his views on communism and economics were more advanced than Marx. Marx was a rhetorician, nothing more.
And I realize that this forum isn’t the place for politics, so I’ll end it with this, I used to be left wing. But the more I studied economics and history the more I realized left wing economic thought thought is essentially fantasy land for people with good intentions, but little to no understanding of the realities of the world.
I don’t mean to be offensive, I’m just very candid when it comes to politics. I could write a 30 page paper on why communism fails, but obviously this isn’t the place for it.
Feel free to argue back if you really want, but I’m a pretty adamant capitalist. Ideologically, I’m a Libertarian, and that ends up being one of the most capitalism loving ideologies in the world.
To answer your question, I doubt that these specific groups will come back. But Halo has shown that there are still left wing ideologies based in Communism that have survived. IIRC, they are more based in the rebels’ and non UNSC command.

Honestly, I don’t want to argue back. I have many friends who are libertarians, though they like left-wing ideas. You have your opinion and I have mine. If you ask, the problem’s not in Marx, it’s in the people not seeing and understanding enough of the theory. I also don’t get how people think of the far left as extremism. Not all communists support violence, take Daniel DeLeon as an example.
And yeah, enough of politics here.
Concerning the Koslovics, it’s quite clear they won’t come back at any point. I haven’t heard of any left-wing insurrectionists though. Sources, please?
P.S. I’m actually kinda proud there are politically conscious people around here. Thumbs up, community.

Hey guys, I know this is a super old post but I made a socialist inspired Spartan Company named after the Koslovics.
Its not actually meant to push any political ideology! I just thought the name was sort of fitting for a clan that seeks to recruit anybody and everybody. Lemme know if you’re interested in joining
