Hi,
I’m getting unable to start the dedicated server when I try and matchmake 95% of the time. What does this mean?
My network is fine and I can play everything else including online in MCC no problem, just getting this in 5.
Thanks

I’m the same at the moment, Everything of mine works except Halo 5 matchmaking. Can’t even do a custom game
Hey folks, there is currently a known issue with Halo 5 matchmaking at the moment. You can keep track of the progress to resolve the issue on the Xbox Support site: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status
What i do is fully exit the Game and star it again. That works for me .
Is this worse in a Fireteam? I seem to be able to get into games more on my own but almost never with a friend in a Fireteam.
Xbox Support says it’s fixed now but not as a Fireteam. I can load in solo, he can load in solo, but we can never load in together now all of a sudden today with these issues. Still can’t.
Both open NATs, have played Halo together for years, can play MCC together just fine as well as ever other game, just right now we can’t get into a 5 game as a Fireteam.
Thanks. Please let Xbox Support know this isn’t fixed. We get the dedicated server error or simply unable to join error.
Cheers
There were some additional issues on Xbox Live services shortly after they said things were fixed for Halo 5, everything should be clear up now though. Might be worth restarting your console and booting the game up again.
Thank you very much for the updates and information stckrboy
This is continuing to happen, especially when playing with a Fireteam. It is incredibly frustrating and seems like nothing is being done to resolve the issues that many seem to be having with matchmaking and dedicated servers.
Not even an acknowledgement. Have they just given up on 5 and ended all support?
Restarting the game 15 times per day is not fun, and even doing it doesn’t always fix the issues. This is unreal and not a good sign with a major launch upcoming.
I’m having the same issue, even when I’m playing alone. I already tried restarting the game, the console, the wifi, I even reinstalled the game to see if it would work (it didn’t). My NAT is open and I can play any other game, except Halo 5.

Same issue here , have restarted the game and the console
I still can’t play the multiplayer, I tried almost everything but nothing seems to work.
I tried something different, going to the Xbox homescreen and then must ‘Quit’ the game on the home screen before restarting it. Surprisingly, even restarting the console without doing this would not get me back into matchmaking. But QUITTING the game before turning off the console, or even just quitting the game before re-starting the game, has fixed this problem for me 99% of the time (not including when the servers are actually down). Hope this helps
I own an X as well as a Series X. I have no issues with the X but I am banging my head against the wall with this brand new Series X. Every single time, it’s the same thing; unable to start the dedicated server.
I’ve tried what everyone else has: restarting the console, manually quitting the game and restarting it, etc. Something is very clearly wrong that is Series X specific.

Having the same issue. Me and 6 friend shave been dealing with this for 5 weeks. They say they fixed it but still can’t connect to dedicated servers. Kicks about 2-3 of us per game we join. They have to restart the game and it will work for a game or two for them but then a couple more of us get kicked. Got to play one round with a 2 person fire team once, then I got kicked the second game we tried. I don’t get why this is taking so long. Hopefully not a bad omen for infinite.
I’ve tried all those things and it all comes down to me turning off the console every time to get the game to work.
I’m sure that’s not the gaming experience that Halo intended for its gamers.
